I still really like the black and white. I spent a good while looking at it. I couldn't believe the amount of color it had though...

Wow! Great entries all around this week and it's awesome to see so many people out shooting as well! In the end there can be only one though, and the winner of the black and white challenge is medic2230! The contrast and incredible detail and texture really brought out the subject framed between the trees in the background.

I hope to see the same level of participation for the next challenge, whatever it may be!

Wow! Thanks Chenbro! There was some really awesome competition this week!

    Ok, New Challenge!

It's time to get out of your comfort zone.

Night Photography of at least 30 seconds (Dusk to dawn). That will cover the ones who don't have any software and the one's who do. I hope this will help everyone learn how to do time exposures. 30 seconds should cover the ones with slower lenses too.

Congrats medic2230! I really like your pictures especially the C.S.A. ones I have seen. Well done!

Thank you! Because of this thread and learning quite a bit on here I just ordered my first F/1.4 lens about an hour ago. This is a dangerous place to be for the savings account.

It's not that difficult. The hard part is just switching the camera to manual for some. This will get them thinking about how everything works. Aperture, ISO, and shutter speed. Everyone will get to learn how to take pics at night when you don't have a flash or as much available light.

On a side note. Just because some don't have a tripod don't get discouraged and not participate. Sit the camera on something, set it to 30 seconds, and use your self timer to trigger the camera to prevent movement. I'd like to see everyone at least try it and submit something. You will learn a lot from this.

    Thanks TJ!

Well you don't necessarily have to be in the middle of nowhere but the limits above 30 seconds are up to you.

I guess you can use this as a good excuse to order goodies for the camera too. lol

I hope so. I'd just like for everyone to at least try to do it and submit something. Night photography is one of my favorite things to do.
