My thoughts exactly... She did enough damage in her last position, I can't imagine having her as a Governor.

 

We should like.... Vote competent republicans into office... Maybe figure out this budget bullshit? Yeah?

 

You know, I don't even care about republican vs. democrat at this point, I just want to see what would happen if you put someone competent and without corporate sponsors in any significant office. Some comedian did an act a while back and it was funny but true. He said politicians should wear uniforms like Nascar drivers, that way you could at least tell who their sponors were.

 

At this point it'd have to be "fire them all and start over" because it's such a clusterfrack of favors owed and people who've been bought. Ridiculous.

 

We need a libertarian candidate though. One that wins. Pear down our bloated government and cut our pointless spending

I hear ya there. It's pretty bad these days. I have no idea how it will or if it even can get better at this point. It seems like every election is just damage control.

 

Same here, I don't care for his successor one tiny bit, not even a little.

Did you hear about CT with regards to gun control? Just wait to see what happens if Coakly ends up getting elected.

No, NY has the SAFE Act, if you're ever in the mood for a depressing read, go through the pages of that thing. CT tried to enact a registration process but only like 15% of the people actually did it. I wouldn't be surprised if MA adopted something similar. The registration part doesn't bother me, it's the next logical step that does. If you're registered, when they take the next step and ban certain items, they already have a comprehensive list of who has what so it's as easy as going door to door to collect. That part hasn't happened anywhere yet, to my knowledge, but in 5 to 10 years I can see states trying to get there.

 

Ya it's concerning. I believe NYC recently did basically do everything short of storming citizens homes who had registered "banned"firearms since they have even stricter laws. They sent out notices that said something to the effect of turn in your firearms, or sell them or you will be charged

They aren't taking my guns. They'll be taking me out in a bag. This is completely unconstitutional.

 

I usually vote indy. In '12 I had real issues with both big candidates.

There is a law somewhere that if an indy wins 5 pct of the vote in a presidential election, all future ones that party is guaranteed equal time on TV, radio, etc.

Much as I hate Obama and Patrick, I can't blame it all on them. The 18-25 generation now was raised on "everyone is the same".

Sadly, if I did move out of MA, I'd likely end up going back to upstate NY. Talk about out of the oven and into the frying pan...
