What's an ATV without a chainsaw?

Starting to draw up plans for some Taco truck box accessory brackets. (chainsaw, gun rack, tilting cargo bed divider etc)

Thanks! Still not sure how I want to finish up the side and under the lights. I cut up the stock side pieces to fill the gaps on the sides, but they do not extend all the way to the back, so it will need to be part of the bumper. I plan to add lights and a tire carrier eventually, so I need to leave a decent amount of room to tie all that in. Here are how the side pieces fit in currently, considering cutting them parallel with the end of the tail light on the side.

Yeah, it is quite slow, and tedious, and messy, and time consuming, and a PITA, but it is getting er done. The 10 ga isn't bad, but the 1/4" sucks. What I have so far has taken like 15 cutoff wheels.

Thanks, man, got to make it happen somehow.

LOL, I have some 3/8" that I am going to use for my rear LCA mounts that I am not looking forward to.

Haha, I have been wearing a particulate mask to help mitigate, but definitely get some still.

LOL no joke! I love all the black crap that comes out after a day of work:eek:

Talk about tedious! It was a pain in the ass doing it with a plasma cutter but angle grinder that must take all day for one piece, you must be dedicated:D

LOTS of wiring, dual battery setup, Solar charging system, with some random lights spread around here and there.
Looking sweet. All I have in the shop is a 4.5" and a chop saw. It gets it done but makes for a long day. Even more so with how crazy straight those edges are.

    Hey Guys,
Just thought I'd chime in on the cutting tools, as I do quite a bit of fabrication at home.
I have found myself utilizing my portaband for cutting most stock.
keeping in mind you are limited by its depth but its fairly fast, clean and easy to handle.
I picked up an off-brand a couple years back from Princess Auto for $99, which is similiar company to Harbour Freight or Northern tools.
Blades are the most imporatant so I only use Milwaukee blades. you dont need an expensive portaband as the key is a good quality blade.

Anyways just wanted to generate an alternative perspective to cutting stock.

    Cheers

Thanks for the advice, I was considering a chop saw, but that is a nice option as well., HF has one for $80. Not sure if I would go with that or a better brand, but most reviews are on the blades, not the machine, and as you mentioned the blades are the most important.

For those driveway DIYers.... Ag reat way to cut plate without a plasma or CNC table.....
Circular saw with metal blade. Rips right through, no dust like a cutoff wheel (and much faster than a cutoff), and no dross like a plasma.
I've got one of these evolution saws and it's a champ for those random tasks around the shop.
    http://www.evolutionpowertools.com/us/build/rageb.php
They can be had right off Amazon for under $100

I started out in the driveway/garage with a cutoff wheel on a grinder as well. Wish I had one of these back then instead!

Awesome, that looks like an even better option as you don't have to worry about the throw on it.

The portaband at HF should be more than sufficient. I've put my portaband thru it's paces and it's still going strong.
Blades are definitely where you need to spend the money. A good quality blade makes the cutting effortless.

    Cheers
