Keep an eye out at the junk yards. Usually when I come across a Tacoma, the front diff is still there.

Yeah that would be the SM465 trans. That was the replacement for the SM420. IIRC the SM420 was pulled from production in 1962 and replaced with the SM465 with the 6.5:1 first.

If you just want to 'see' if it will work, couldn't you just drop your dad's front diff for an afternoon to check fitment/measurements? :notsure:

haha could i? sure..will that happen...probably never..haha can't see my dad letting me drop the front diff and CVs just to check something..plus i don't have LT anyways..

He might need a regear after he gets his new tires..34s and the fatness of the FRV might make him want some pep back..but..is boosted so who knows.

No the awning is just bolted on with L brackets. Tent uses two bolts and a plate as a washer to clamp on tubing.

    i knew that

    Gotcha..

well basically..the whole back of the awning is just like the sliders that hold the bolts for the RTT. Works the same. two bolts in each rail and you have to bolt it to something with the slide area. and really...probably doesn't even have to be an L shape, could work flat..but you'd lose about 3'' of height.
