Here's a little preview of the enclosure I'm making for my own truck. It'll go in the roof console sunglass holder that pops down. I'm not sure how many other folks would want something like this (as opposed to a simple window suction-cup type enclosure) but if there's interest I'm open to making them available!

I'm interested in a sun glass holder. Possibly if it was removable.

I tried really hard to make the in-dash mount work, but I don't think it's gonna come out how I want it to.

I'm going to keep trying though!

That looks really good Rob! Great wood working skills!

I'm gonna try my hand at making a bump out for my dash out of plastic and fiberglass. What could possibly go wrong?

Would it be possible to get the temp and compass input from the stock overhead console display to work with this unit?

Still a great idea. I'm not sure how well these are selling, but if this could fit into and replace the current temp/compass display... well I know I would buy one. That wouls also solve the inside only temp limitation, if it could draw from the sensor already there.

Just my thoughts, nothing inflamatory meant by them. You did a really great job, with what you have there.

Just a bunch of old crap
Well done, my friend. Glad to see it came to fruition. This should easily be able to be installed somewhere in the dash or in the overhead since the boards and connections can be condensed so small.

I'm playing around with a 4x20 LCD (green on black) so it can show more information on one page, but I don't have serial LCDs so I have to rewrite the code a bit :) I'm also looking at smaller screens so I could install it behind the smoked lens of the overhead console compass/outside temp module.

    Hope you haven't disappeared!

Are there any after market roof/ceiling consoles for first gens that this could mount in?

Also temperature and compass would be great functions :)

Got it installed. First wanted to thank Rob for his customer service. I bought this over a year ago to install in my Tacoma, never got around to it and finally got it installed in my Tundra. When I first installed it the lights where on but it wasn't working. I sent an email to Rob, he said to send it to him, which he offered to pay for. One part was installed backwards, he fixed it and sent it to me at no charge. So great customer service.
    Here it is installed:
