If I recall, a while back someone said they are trying their hand in making stuff out of spare engine parts. Whoever is doing that, I have a pair of shaft mounted rocker assemblies for a big block MOPAR. They are just a little too far gone for my liking, so I ordered new ones. Shafts are hollow with pressed in end plugs. Perfect for a lamp or something that needs wiring run through it. Pay shipping and its yours.

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
That's a good deal Kolt. I might be getting rid of mine soon if I get a snorkel. Either that, or modify it to work with a snorkel.

Thanks Mitch, the interior is good to go. Got it all back together and it looks great...actually the cleanest the interior has been since I bought it :p

I might be making some random stuff with parts from my old engine once I get it out. I know for sure the block itself is toast, and likely the crank, rods, and pistons. We'll see once I tear it down. If I end up making stuff, and it goes well, I might hit you up for those.

Thanks for the heads up!

You know, I've really considered getting an aftermarket intake. Do you guys notice any gains such as MPG? Or is it more of a noise accessory? I had a k&n on my old 1st gen and I kinda liked the noise of it when sucking in air but at times it would get annoying.

That is kind of what I am thinking of doing also. The snorkel kits a pretty expensive though.

It's really hard to say because I installed the intake and headers around the same time but I did feel a bit of a difference. There is a bit more noise but I don't really notice that too well because the headers/exhaust are louder then the intake.

I just googled to see where Bothell is and I don't think I'm going up to Seattle any time soon :/ Thanks for the response!

    EDIT
With that being said, I'll stay aftermarket intake-less..for now.

Oh, ya. I know it's pretty far. It's about 3.5 hr to Portland. Good luck with what ever you decide to do. If you have any other questions I can try to answer them.

Thanks man, will do! I do plan on getting an aftermarket intake at some point. I have flowmaster muffler so my truck sounds nice right now, not too aggressive or loud.

You have the dry filter so no need to oil them up, correct? And for maintenance you can take off the filter and hose them from the inside to push the dirt out? Yeah I have family up in Seattle that I haven't seen in awhile

I can't really gauge the MPGs or power, since I added the AFE exhaust at the same time. Throttle does seem more responsive, esp. @ WOT.

I like the reusability of the Dry filter, but every time I clean (deep cleaning too) I give it a good tap on the counter and I still see dust and dirt particulates.

You lose some real estate w/ most CAI boxes for 2nd gens. That's another reason I might go back to stock and get a snorkel - I could fit a little ARB compressor, PA horn, aux. Relays etc. if I were to take out the AFE.
