So I picked up a bunch of industrial shelving last night from a warehouse to use at my house. 24 sheets of 2'x7' MDF and a whole lot of framing. Total weight was about 1600 lbs which i figured out once i got it home and weighed the pieces and added it up. Keep in mind I've got a 2" AAL in the rear too

(Sorry for the crappy dark cell phone pics)

Rode like crap. Let's just say I avoided the highways like the plague. On some bigger bumps the fronts were getting fully extended (Billy 5100's set at 2.5")

Be limit is around 1200-1400 I think. I often have over 1000 in mine, no problem.

I had a full load of firewood one time and my truck looked and rode just like yours did. The rear end felt like it was attached to the truck with Slinkies.

That looks about on par for TSB'd Tacoma's. from the looks of the pic, you're about ¾" off the bump stops.
AAL's re-curve the stock springs, but don't really carry a load all that well.
Good Bilstiens or similar quality shocks back there will improve the ride quality a lot.

Payload for an access cab 4x4 is between 1280-1305 depending on transmission. Payload is also affected by--decreased--by weight of occupants, items in the cab, aftermarket accessories etc.

So if your truck was completely empty you would be about 400lbs over the limit, roughly 600lbs if you are an average sized man, but not taking into consideration the AAL and whatever increase that adds to the load capacity.....so please be careful driving with a load like that ;).

;)..Thanks, well we tow and carry a lot of weight frequently with all 3 of the trucks we have, so I always make sure we are not over capacity and are safe.
Also..a lot of people were complaining about their trucks bottoming out and not handling well with 1000+lbs in it on the various TSB threads and not understanding that they were over the payload capacity.

Glad the OP was not making the thread to complain .

Yeah...I'm glad that the OP understood how much weight was there...cause it was easily 600#s over the limit- and no AAL will increase the capacity by itself.

The capacity includes consideration for the brakes, frame mounts, tires, and suspension.

That was a hell of a load....Glad you made it safe!!

I went to the home depot the other day and got 10 80# bags of cement and some lumber and weight only lowered my rear suspension about 1 inch. The ride was not that much different either. My suspension is 100% stock on an 09 access cab TRD sport.

Meanwhile, mine bottoms out with nothing in the bed so my bed capacity must be a negative number.

Nope not complaining at all. I'm actually impressed with how well it handled the weight. The only reason i loaded it up so much was that I didn't want to make another trip (about 45 miles from my house)

I've got an 07 dcab trd offroad with the 4 leaf tsb done, and I may be doing a 250mile trip to go pick up about 800#'s of tile. It will be handloaded, not just slid in on a pallet due to having the leer shell on it, so I'll be able to get the weight as far forward as possible.

How close do you think I'll be to my bumpstops in the rear? This is my wife's truck so I don't use it much for work, so I haven't had a big load of tile in it. The 4 leaf pack did make a huge difference in how it towed my m416 trailer and loaded bed for our camping trips.

More than likely it will just be me going up, so I was thinking if the back end sags too much, I'll just put the seats down in back and load some there. My wife's not here right now so I can't go see what it says the payload is, plus that number is relative and I'm looking for more real world answers.

Payload for the Prerunner is about 1400lbs and 4x4 is about 1300lbs, minus weight of occupants, gear, added accessories, etc.
With the TSB leafs, I'd guess its going to sag about 3inches. But its hard to say as there are a lot of variables. I've had roughly 400lbs in the bed with the TSB springs and it barely moves, towed a trailer close to 2000lbs but I don't know the tongue weight and it didn't sag much at all. Take it easy over bumps and rough road and you will be fine.

Thanks Foxy! That's about what I figured, just wanted to check with others who've hauled in their tsb leaf tacomas before.
