Question about stock springs?

I have already ordered replacement leafs for my truck since my stock ones are pretty much at a negative arch even with AAL. Is there a possibility that my stock coils are worn too. The reason I ask is i am replacing my front coil spacer lift with new extended struts and i dont want to put worn coils on top off new struts. Anyone had similar experience? It just seems like my truck doesn't have nearly as much lift as when i first did it. If so where do you get stock springs other than the stealership.

 

get OME 880 or 881 springs. i believe that they are similiar to stock size (looked almost the same when i pulled my stock ones off and compared both) and work with bilstein shocks as well, if that is what you are using.

Is there any way to tell if the stock ones are shot? I can look at the leafs and see they are crap but i didn't know about the coils.

 

I purchased the skyjacker 3" strut lift with new rear leafs. The shocks are not adjustable so I will have to use a stock height coil. Right? All the one's i see at wheeler's provide lift.

The instructions didn't mention any spacer. It was my understanding that the lift came from the shock.

 

I'm looking into replacing my OEM stuff too and I think my shocks have 170K on them. Might just get bilsteins and replace my springs and leafs with something OEMish since I do not want to lift it.

My 97 sits to the left side. I measured the front springs and the front left is 1" more compressed than the right side. The back left wheel well is 1" lower than the right side too.

 

I confirmed this with skyjacker, the lift comes from the new strut. My concern is, i have been running a spacer lift for over a year and it has compressed my coil springs. They also confirmed that you can only go with OE coils with this strut, so does anyone have some lightly used stock coils lying around.

 

When it rains water just sits in the right side towards the cab. Here is a pic, but keep in mind that the rear bumped is dented which is why it looks crooked(I need to find a new bumper too).

That pic is with absolutly nothing in the bed. As soon as i put my tools back there they look almost upside down.

 

Skyjacker strut lift uses the stock coils and gets preloaded by the struts that SJ includes thus giving the lift. I would find some stock used coils w/ less miles.

 

I had to replace my rear springs because a leaf on both sides was cracked, one side it was completely broken and only held together by the shackles. I also bought bilsteins for all 4 corners, but when all was said and done, if I'd just bought the OME kit from Wheelers Offroad I would have saved a little bit of money The OldManEmu kit has everything you need to do all 4 wheels, and the front and back will work together well.
