Just wondering if anyone uses this filter (the yellow Purolator PureOne) on their 2.7 4Cyl Tacoma. I heard somewhere that the filter was considered restrictive, but then I heard that it was all BS.

Just wondering if anyone has used this filter for a long term and has had any negative effects.

The PureOnes appear to be very efficient, but I am a bit leery of using one.

I used pure one filters exclusively on my old truck to 50k miles, never had a issue. Traded the truck after that.

Most of us here prefer to use OEM filters.

I use the PureOne on my ATV's (Polaris) and it's well regarded. That being said, I plan to continue using the OEM filter on my Tacoma. Buying them by the case from an eBay vendor keeps the cost down compared to dealer retail.

I use a K&N because it's washable and will last basically forever. But the OEM filters are good too. Don't know about the Pure One brand.

Does K&N make a washable oil filter? (OP was inquiring about oil filters.)

PS: This link has information on a motorcycle oil filter review and it mentions the PureOne's.

If you go to BITOG and search there, you can read threads about it. I am not asserting that it is a restrictive oil filter, but since I have seen references in that regard, I thought I'd check for real-world experiences.
