    Evening all: ^^^:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:^^^
    Looks like that may not be such a good idea! :D

    Young guy called this morning around 7:00 and said he was already on the ice and asked if I wanted to join him. Told him about wanting to watch what happens at the opening of the market, and wouldn't be there until later. 10:00 put the sell order in and was on the ice by 11:00.
    After the sell; :)! After the ice fishing; :( !

    Good morning Ken.

    Taking 3 school kids to the soup kitchen this morning. :)

    My upstairs PC is crapping out. All applications are now "Not Responding" at times. It will not reboot properly and I know the motherboard is going. I checked and cannot find a replacement motherboard. Might have to buy a new PC. :( I still need to run a bunch of diagnostic programs at boot up. The PC is only 4 1/2 years old at this point. I might be looking at something other than a Dell at this point.

    When our Dell desktop eventually craps out (5 yrs old I think), I'm getting a MAC. Always stuck with MS platforms to be capatible with work I'd bring home. That's not a factor with my second civilian worker bee career, so I'm going there now. IMO MS is getting too complicated and my believe is that is the root of a lot of the issues I see at work and hear folks talk about here. My son is MS System Administer/Technician and keeps our machine going currently. He used to sing the MS party line but doesn't argue the point/belief with me much anymore. Either my grumpy old man act is working or I'm right. :notsure:

    I do almost everything computer related on my IPhone or IPad nowadays anyway. ;)

    Well crap ... Getting a little old for you NE guys. :(

    Good experience for the kids Tom...shows them how fortunate they are to have what they do:)...

    I had a Dell and after 3 hard drives the Mother Board finally went...(was only 4 years old:mad:). We went to Best Buy and bought a Lenovo. I am happy with the performance but hate Windows 8:(. Give me XP:thumbsup:

    I run XP on my older ex-work laptop and it performs quite well:D and I have a Samsung tablet running android that I use when we travel and have less problems then I do with windows 8:eek:...The missus has an I pod touch and an I phone and loves them but for some reason I can't get into MAC programs and operating systems. I like my tablet and my phone has the same android system as the tablet so it's a plus for me:thumbsup:

    The weather....:goingcrazy::goingcrazy::help::facepalm::facepalm::goingcrazy::goingcrazy:

    Keep her working Cap...mines got 3 more years till retirement and since I retired:D she is worried about losing her job(go figure)...I just wish this weather would shit or get off the pot...I'm tired of it:(

    Morning all:

    Tom: I don't know squat about these contraptions (computers). The guy that worked on mine said something about a lifespan of around 5 yrs. I also have seen that posted on another forum. ?????? That may be just on certain components though.
    When the young guy built the one I have, it was ordered from> ibuypower.
    I am happy with it, and am running windows 7 ultimate.
    If you know enough to build your own you may be able to save some $$$$.
    This guy gets his built there to play games on, and says he saves quite a bit. Again ??????? Might be worth looking at.

    Every once in awhile I do the same as Crawdaddy. It's amazing what some of this stuff does cost when you break it down like he did.

    I am leaning that way Charlie. Priced one out on Newegg yesterday and the cost was right around 1K, but it was fully loaded. Was quite the reading experience to put together components that fit. Was surprised to find out that the older Intel processor, Ivy Bridge, is recommended over the newer Generation 4 processors.
