Cant decide on what tires to get the General grapplers AT2 or the Toyo Open country's AT2! Thought i made my decision on Toyo's then I started looking at the P vs Lt rating's of the tire. Lt's look way more aggressive but add more weight and cost more, and started gravitating more towards the Generals, they both have really good ratings. Chime in if you have experience with either, Thanks.

Toyos will last and preform great from everybody I've heard from. Don't know about the generals

I just put the at2 on my ride and couldn't be happier. Toyo makes excellent tires with long lasting rubber. I went 285/70/17. At around 48lbs a piece you don't notice power loss like you might a 65lb mt.

The generals will wear fast they are a soft rubber. That is why most have severe snow ratings! Not just snow rated!

My Grabber 2's have roughly 36000 miles on them and are still at 6-7/16 deep....

They just helped me pull a U-haul 5x8 1500 plus miles without a hic-up and were GREAT in NH SNOW....will they last in Floridas heat..????
    Time will tell

They are 265/75/16 LT's and I am their 2nd owner;Another TW'r from NY put the 1st 20,000 on them and I thank him AGAIN for a GREAT DEAL..

These tires have worn like iron and delivered 14 mpg avg towing that trailer;19-23 mpgs when by themselves and I have a 2.7 automatic 4x4;).

Just my 2 cents but the above tells you about "real life" from another TW..:)

Toyo at2, my friend had the grabber at2. I personally thought they were to soft all around and wobbly.

    Please explain.

They handle Texas heat, so I can't imagine you'd have a problem in Florida. I put them on my wife's car last May. We sold the car in December. After 12k mi. they still had 13/32 tread.

Based on the good experience I had on my wife's SUV, I decided I had to have them on my truck. Not soft or wobbly....at all.

I'll try to get some better pictures of the tires themselves.

My only complaint is that I went with a larger size that was heavier than I anticipated. So my MPG went down a little, but I'm still within the MPG range that was on the sticker when I bought it.

Oh, and when we've had snow/ice storms here in TX, they have done phenomenally.

Sorry, I referred to it as a car at one point but an SUV later in that post.

It was a 2006 Kia Sorento EX 4x4. It weighed 4400 lbs. unloaded (according to Edmunds), but was always loaded down. I'll see if I can find some pics of the tires on it...I thought they looked really good!
