Humming noise while driving

Hey Tacoma World need some help!

On my 2nd Tacoma but new to this forum. I have an 09 2WD PreRunner SR5 DoubleCab with about 110k miles. I'm hearing a humming noise while driving down the road. The noise/sound is not changing on different road surfaces and does not increase with engine RPM but does with vehicle speed. Tires are new and sound was there before I replaced tires. Any ideas??

 

What kind of tires? did you replace them with the same type (brand/version) of tire?

 

I had the same humming noise. Turns out when she sat upright instead of leaning over the drivers seat, the sound went away.
In all seriousness, can you get video or audio of the sound?

 

Jack up the front end until your wheels are off the ground and grab the tire at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock and see if there is any free play or wiggle. If so your wheel bearing is toast and you should not drive it because it can go from a slight hum to a complete failure in a matter of a few miles. Good news is that a whole new hub is only $140 OE and it is an easy install.

 

New tires are Michelin M/S 2 which is also what I had on before.

 

Checked front end and there is no movement in it at all.

 

I'll try it and see.

 

Maybe its just the tires I know with some A/T they hum, but not sure about those
