    yeah thats exactly how I feel. As far as I know you can have it in your car, separate containers, locked etc without issue?

    Its crazy where Im gonna be in DC, im living in VA where I can carry/do whatever, cross into the city and become a felon.

    yeah, it has to be covered. I was pulled over with my 223 in the truck once and the cop gave me a really hard time about it not being locked. Now I always lock my shit up. Better safe than sorry.

    None of my guns are registered to anyone? NJ doesn't require long gun registration so regardless, as long as you are over 18 you can transport and use a firearm I believe. IDK - I have my FID and carry it everywhere. When my VA CCW comes through that will go everyhwere with me too. I'm going to try and switch my residency to VA altogether.

    Also, wtf are you talking about? I have never heard that before about buck shot...

    Just because you haven't had a problem doesn't mean it's legal. You also live in a very rural part of the state where hunting is very common. Getting pulled over out there will likely have a different outcome than getting pulled over in other parts of the state.
