My 2008 Tacoma 4wd. Has a vibration around 29 mph?
    Worse accelerating while turning left
Toyota tells me it's the tourque converter
My transmission guy told me they are clueless
Because the tourque converter doesn't come on until 55 mph or faster
One post I read here says that resetting the ECM module helps.
If that's true could you verify that remedy
    Thanks
    Frank

The TCC on the Tacoma uses a different programming operation than most other manufacturers. It can pulse-width modulate the TCC at lower speeds if needed. So yes, it COULD be a TCC issue. Really the best way is to get it properly diagnosed, but it seems your transmission shop is unsure of it. (Actually most TCC engagement is above 45mph, not 55) What has me curious is that it gets worse on left turns. THAT would lead me away from a transmission issue, and more into a wheel/tire/driveline possibility. I would suggest lifting up the truck and checking ball joints, tie rods, and wheel bearings for play.

It is strange. It feels like an unbalanced drive shaft
    It's a shudder between 3-4 gears(automatic trans).
This person I'm bringing it to has a great reputation for diagnosing tranissipn problems
I will continue to post about any solution to this problem

The u joint is fine. But it's going to be checked again
It is a 2 piece drive shaft
I can grab it and move it like there is no stability in the splice joint
The most weird thing about this shudder is that it's worse turning left accelerating to 28 mph than turning right which is occasional

Ive had a similar problem for almost a year. The speeds can be 25-45 but I can feel it mainly on left turns also. I have a beater car and I've only put 4000 miles on the truck. I bought this truck through carmax and brought it to them 6 times for the same issue. The first few times they said it was a tire balance issue. They said they rotated and rebalanced. Third time they said they "think" my rim was bent (well replace it because I didnt pay for a bent rim) they're reply was tire not balanced. What is irritating is they dropped it off to the toyota dealer each time when they couldnt figure it out.

I'll keep you informed about my 08
I'm going to have the ECM reset after reading a post.
Someone posted the same issue and had the ECM reset and it worked for now.
Toyota told me I need a new transmission
That's not going to happen. After reading all these posts and talking to my transmission person. I'll keep everyone posted
    Thanks to all!

ECM or ECU? You can reset that by disconnecting your battery for a bit...
