Called recon yesterday and got an appt for March 7. Got my alignment done this morning from Scotty's. Scotty's noted that my stock rear mud flaps won't pass recon because it doesn't cover the width of my 17 x 9 tires. Has anyone done anything with their mud flaps to pass?

I actually changed out my flaps to ones from checkers. My old ones were cut so were technically shorter than the middle of the tire. I think these are a bit wider than the stock ones. I utilized the factory holes. You are more than welcome to borrow these for your recon and put your stocks back right after. The only thing that is notated on the recon paperwork is "mudflaps". They don't measure than list it. ..lol..

Text me and I can send you a couple of pics of the rear coverage to compare against yours. Three 0 six 7 double 0 7

Edit@3:55 - Hey derrick just saw you truck at the guard as you were leaving. . We going in.. wife was driving, and I got the lounge seat in the bed... cab full of neighbor kids.. lol.

If you install some garden edging just to pass recon, will it be annotated on paper?

When adding on to your recon paperwork (I.e. listing sliders) do I need to redo my alignment again??

that should work. The tire is covered and that's what they're looking for.

Front tires no need mud flap. But if your tire is sticking out of the fender best to cover it the length of the fender.

Trdizzle - what size tire and rim you running. I got 17x9s and 265/70/17. That combo and thread sticking out just a bit, I was able to get recon without flares. I did have wider flaps that did cover the thread.

Asking as your combo looks similar. If you can possibly pass without flares, I definitely would, so you never have to worry about them not being on ( traffic stop, yearly safety). i actually went with my flares on and asked if I could pass without them. The guy was cool enough to take a second look and let me know. If you need the flares to pass then it will be listed down as such.

My rim and tire set up is similar to yours. I didn't want to put them on, but I did since I wasn't sure. Say I asked the inspector if I needed flares or not to pass recon and he said you don't need them, would I have the option to have it listed on the paperwork without flares and still have them on, or would I need to take them off then? ( sorry if it does not make sense). Lol

I think the paperwork wouldn't say anything about flares needed. You are better off not having flares lited and having them on the truck, then havering them listed on the form but not having them on the truck. The safety inspector might think they are required if their on the form.
