no coil overs yet. I'm debating yet AGAIN on weather or not I want to bag it ... fully. The back is back to mono with helper springs (Inflation valve hooked up only), which kind of sucks ass right now due to the stupid soda can block breaking. Need to replace those along with new tires up front

Got to do a little mock up todat to see how the arms work out. As of now theres kinks to be worked out.

1. Heim spacers (1st/2nd pic), need to get reducer bushings for heims and spacers, add additional 1" spacers that fit a 1/2" bolt (im guessing the uca bolt size, sorry).

2. Radius rods are too long, the 12" pushes too far out that the tie rod goes retarded (need to extend).

Had to stop and pack up before rain made street slippery. not the best pics cause i rushed it.

 

Found some (ordering and then on the hunt for 1.5" and 0.5" spacers for 1/2" bolt).

anyone know the thread size/type for the tie rods? thinking of making/buying something similar to this.

 

This is turning into a giant pain in the ass. Glad it's you working out the kinks and not I.

Copperstate, grainger, or fastenal will carry that nut. As for thread and dia, couldn tell ya.

 

How long of an extension do you need? All the long travel kits us extensions. That means you can get them in 2" and 3.5" already...

 

Not really. I found the right spacers i need. They are called misalignment spacers. Not expensive either. Getting those, then 1/2" spacers roughly 1 3/8" long.

Still trying to find the tie rod thread. Might be able to make my own extensions.

 

The top of the spindle stuck out worse than my camber, but that was my fault. I can miter saw the tubes down or worse come to worse, i just sawzaw it. Thankfully these bars are threaded fairly far into itself. Are the 6 lug tie rods beefier than the 5 lug? I know some parts you can interchange but some you cant. Havent found out if the tie rods are the same.

 

Just go on rockauto and see if the part numbers are the same. Easy solution

If you can find out the thread size I may be able to do one better...I have a set of 3.5" extensions from a Tundra LT kit sitting here that might work if cut down, all depend on threads.

 

went to Rock Auto like you said. Found this on their site. Apparently there are two thread sizes. One of the rod ends (longer) has a thread of M16-1.5 and another (shorter) has M15.-1.5 ... As for the 6 lug parts, they are the same. Although the problem is finding out which thread size I have on mine M15 or M16?

 

forgot to mention this, when I was doing the mock up. I did a quick look at how far the bars were to the spring perch, they cleared EASILY. I had my bars positioned to the far corners toward the bolt heads to the a arms.

 

So were the arms at the minimum it could go and it was still too long??

 

Yeah, but it was due to the 12" bar. The 11" wasnt so bad so im keeping that one as is. Taking an 1" off both ends of the 12" to get 10". I still have room to adjust so theres no worry. Also found out what the tie rod spacers are called ... cant believe i didnt see it .... hex spacers (on computers, they are used to hold the motherboard to the comp case). It dawned on me when i was web searching. If i dont have to movemy truck around today im going to take off one of the castle nuts to the tie rods and scale it up to the gauge thing they have at osh to see what bolt size you have if you dont know.

 

I have the first one. M16-1.5.

 

anyone know the tread type on the oem bolts? I want to swap them for grade 8 bolts.
