Do all Tacomas, manual transmissions 2005 and up come with clutch start cancel button? If not, are all 2005 and up manual transmission Tacomas wired(empty plug in harness) to receive a button (just plug it in) purchased at the dealer?

I think all manual trans Toyota trucks do have them. not sure of 5 lug but I know my 92 4x4 had one.

now im curious wondering if the 2wd and/or prerunners have them. wouldn't serve much of a purpose without a lo range

I've only ever seen 4wd toyotas with clutch start cancel buttons. If you want to know if your prerunner is prewired, I can take a pic of the connector if you like, then you can pop out the switch blank to check if the connector is there.

What are you trying to achive by installing the switch? Starting the truck while standing beside? Since your 2wd doesn't have lo range, you really shouldn't be using it as intended and starting it in gear.

I do not have the switch yet, cost at dealer on line is $50.00. I have a blank or two behind the knock outs, but not sure what they hook up two. A picture of the switch would be appreciated. My intentions for this button, is to start the truck, out of gear, parking brake on and not having to push in the clutch. Pushing the clutch all the way to the floor board is very hard for my wife to do. I have a mint 95 Nissan 6cyl,stick, with rocker switch now for 19 years and never a problem. Thanks.

I'd spend the 50$ just to have less blank spots on my panel and also because I'm lazy lol

I would like to see the back of the switch to see if it will match up to a blank connector in the bundle of wires behind the dash.

Hopefully this helps you out. Open the change drawer, then pull it away from the hinge to remove it for easy access to the area behind the switch.

There isn't any receiving plug that looks like that white square one behing the knock outs.

I opted for the clutch cancel when I bought my current truck, but every 4x4 Toyota I've seen since the '87 pickup my buddy owned has had a 'clutch start cancel' button if it's a Manual Transmission. My '99 4x4 Tacoma did, and a coworker's '96 4 Runner did too.

my 2 wheel drive prerunner, 08 doesn't seem to be wired for the clutch start cancel switch, unless I just can not find it. It is a stick shift, 6 speed manual
