I was planning to come Friday but now my fever came back. Guess I'd better skip the whole trip just to be sure I don't pass this on to anyone else. We'll need a memphis meet in a few weeks or something.

Yes but you have that magical little switch in the dash that actually works. Mine is just there with nothing connected when I was going to do a swap. So now I have full poser status since I can't find the blank that goes in it.

BAD NEWS.

THE OFFROAD PARK IS CLOSED.

Kurt got there this morning and talked to the head dude about it. He said that there is a bald eagle in the park with a nest and he doesnt want it being disturbed. I've never personally seen an entire off-road park closed for any reason, let alone a bird, but that's the info I got at the moment. I'm gonna see what I can do when I get there. But without sugar coating it, the off-road section of the park is closed at the moment.

Not all is bad though. The rest of the park is still open and has many trails that can still be ridin. We rode some of them last year. They even have some "4wd required" trails outside of the dedicated offroad section. They also have a gun range of some sort. I loaded my Mossberg 500, some bird shot and skeet to bring along. There is primitive camping as well were we can set up and do whatever tha fuck we want.

So here's where we stand as of this moment ......... Offroad park is closed. There is offroading outside of there, just not as hardcore. We can primitive camp and throw down all night. We can also shoot guns (not while throwing down though) haha

Like I said I'm gonna see if there's something that can be done when I get there this afternoon but I'd plan for the worse of scenarios and say we can't get in the offroad park. Me, Kurt, Levi, Mike, Cooper and 2 of his buddies will be there for sure. I understand that this is potentially a really fucked up situation and a let down for some and if folks wanna back out then I ain't mad about it. But it may also turn out great and even if they won't open the offroad park, there might still be good offroading elsewhere and of coarse the campsite won't disappoint at all. Sometimes you gotta enjoy what you can when opportunities arise .

Going tomorrow to get yet another set of tires and a new set of wheels. Took it to the driveline shop today and everything is fine but they spun my tires and showed me visually they are out of round.

And still no word back on that tire. II emailed the other guy with the three for back up

 

Hmm. I might bail then and just run through Windrock some more with the jeep guys. 4-1/2 hours is a distance if half of the good wheeling is pawned.

 

Fuck it. I like ya'll. Still Wheeling? Yes. Still a place to sit and bullshit and have a fire? Yes. Still getting a room? Yes. Does not sound like a bad time.

I got Gid and Levi's #'s. I'm driving into Murry first and setting up. I'll call one of you two when I'm ready to head out towards LBL and find out where ya'll are. If need be, I can still GPS the address given and someone can meet me there.

This is the camp site it is called Neville bay. It is located 7 miles from the south end of the park on hwy 461. The entrance is in a sharp curve with two big road sings on each end. The camp site is 1.5 miles from the main byway. We have hit some trails this morning and one person had to be PULLED out on the back roads. I will try and get a pic of the map in the next post cell coverage is spotty but text seems to work. Looks like the oha is closed for long term according to Bill over the park due to an eagles nest and hatchlings. But come on out hang out wheel the lighter trails and have fun. Do not forget warm warm warm stuff to sleep in.

 

If you are coming from Murry on hwy 80 east, once you cross the bridge turn right about 2 miles down on Woodlands Trace (hwy 453). You should see signs for Turkey bay on the left under the overpass. Once you turn right, drive 14 miles to Neville Bay. The Neville Bay sign is on the right of the road and on the left of the road is a green mile marker 7. You can only turn left on that gravel road. Once you take a left a few miles down is a split in the road. Take a right. There is a sign that says Lake Access on the left. We are camped on the left.
