The treatment the dealer offered at signing was diamond coat and would have required drilling.

I haven't heard good things about zeibart, I would shy away from them. Can't speak to the other options but I don't know that I would sign up for a yearly treatment. I would fluid film or motor oil it if you want and just keep washing it religiously throughout the winter. When spring rolls around hit the frame with POR15 or other similar products. That's what I try to do with my vehicles and it works alright, the NY salt is brutal!

They may be full of shit, but they also told me that the corrosion and perforation warranty is null and void when vehicles are sold in this Port of the country. Has anyone heard that before?

I bought mine used but the original owner had it Zeibarted through the dealer when they bought it. I never inquired if the warranty transferred over to me or not. I bought it in a snowstorm in December and it hasn't stopped snowing since. I still haven't been able to look at it without it being covered in salt so I can only hope they did a good job on the under body.

The salt they use is bad...but when it's been under 20 degrees like it has been alot this year..the calcium chloride they use is even worse. I would say that any treatment is better than none at all...I'm going to have to do mine again in the spring...lots of Rochester peeps popping up in here....nice to see some local support and advice !

DIY with fluid film. It's a yearly application, but it works and a can costs something like 10 bucks. I did my entire undercarraige with less than 3 cans.

That's what I'm thinking for the yearly. To be honest I did the Krown mostly to get it done for this year and to get the innards covered. May buy the ff kit for next year

I wouldn't worry about them voiding your warranty by drilling holes in your body, from what I can tell it's the frames that have issues.

I have had my 08 Krowned every year, and still find a have a concerning amount of rust on the front frame area and espicially around the front crossmember differential area.

I now remove my TRD skid plate and OEM skid plate to ensure they can spray that area well. Starting last year a bring it to Krown twice a year, once for the body and frame in the fall then just the frame in the spring.

That's what I've been putting on; 3 cans in early spring, and then I let it go until late fall without washing the undercarriage. Then hit it with 1 or 2 more cans right before winter. In middle of winter I start power rinsing the undercarriage every time the frame gets pretty white.

Been through two nasty PA winters since I've had my truck, and it looks pretty darn clean underneath so far without any dealer undercoatings. I also put 1 full can in the rocker pannels, and 1 full can in the doors the first time I used Fluid Film. Since those areas are sealed I don't plan on hitting them again for several years though.
