So today I went to put my new wheels and tires on and I asked them to swap the TPMS for me. Come to find out I didn't have them. I thought I was supposed to. What's up with that?

Do not feel "inadequate" for not having it.

I like not having "another" light blink at me. I'm fairly certain I can keep my tires inflated.

I found out recently they were federally mandatory in all vehicle in 2008 and up.

I bought some used TRD take off wheels to replace my steel wheels and knew the steel TPMS sensors would not be a "direct" fit on the TRD wheels. So I went to my local tire place to get the rims swap and wanting plain valve stems in the TRD wheels. Tire place was adamant in that the replacement TRD wheels had to have a TPMS sensors or they would not do the swap. I was somewhat pissed but was able to convince them to take my steel wheel TPMS sensor and install them on the TRD wheels 180 degrees out. I guess in the end it was "win, win" for me but I was surprised the tire shop would not disable the TPMS system as I wanted.

Getting tire of all this government nanny shit!
