I grew up around them, and so did our livestock. Not one of them touched our cows and horses. In fact, they usually kept a few acres away from the property at all times. Plenty of other stuff for them to kill out there.

 

Yeah I don't see them as a problem. I don't think its right to kill them just because.

 

Never had an issue with coyotes when we were raising cattle at the ranch, worse problem was stray dogs. Biggest nuisance around here is squirrels and gophers!!!

 

Alligator hunting is so regulated its ridiculous

 

Coyote population around here is getting out of hand IMO. You can walk outside at our camp and hear them howling pretty much any night. They've been brave enough to come within 20yds of the front door.

 

Over population is different. I'm saying killing just because you don't like them.

Food around?

 

Difference is hogs are edible. Don't know anyone that eats coyotes. Killing for sport is fucked up, unless you or your animals are in immediate danger from a predator, just hunting for trophy or sport is ridiculous. If your hunting to fill your freezer, that's great. If you're hunting to kill predators that you don't eat, and are no threat to you or your family or livestock, you're just a killer that I have no respect for.

We keep our coolers outside but the only thing that usually gets into them are bears.

I would assume that's why they are checking things out then. I'd be more worried about walking out on a hungry mommy bear.

At my cabin all food and garbage stays inside.. unless burning the garbage up. And I make sure its fully burned.

In my area they are a nuisance animal, they scare horses (the other day a local rancher shot one because it was I the stable with the horses) and they are becoming over populated for the area.

Not to mention they have taken some pets (ours and neighbors) lives

 

interesting, a nuisance animal in their indigenous area that you have now takin over. Never had an issue with them up in North Phoenix and I heard them eating shit every night.

 

And Accidents are through the roof I guarantee lol. I'm not even leaving the house this weekend. Except to take side streets to food and back.

 

I agree, they brought the Coyotes here to take care of the deer population and over the years they have gotten out of hand especially when they funnel down to a small area like the part of South Jersey I live in. They have been seen wonder through the neighborhoods which I also like to blame on over development.

 

There is your problem. If they let you guys hunt a little more aggressively in the crappy states you guys are in, they would never have had to bring in un-natural predators to an area.
