As the subject says. I am looking to retro a set of OEM lookalike headlights but I'm not sure if there are particular ones that are epoxy sealed (which I don't want because they're impossible to open).

Has anyone had experience opening up a set of OEM looking aftermarket housings? If so, which ones did you purchase?

    Thanks!

I usually retro the BHLM headlights and haven't had any trouble with those, which is why I'm asking.

Depo headlights. I just googled them. I bought some '95 Cherokee ones and '00 Crown Vic ones. They come apart easily. The thing I found, was that there wasn't enough sealant when I took them apart. I got some butyl and added some where needed BEFORE sealing up the retrofit. 100% waterproof now. Not that it wasn't before, but good thing I took them apart to see what I was dealing with. Good thing I got some butyl from TRS by accident.

The lights that I retrofitted on my truck now say Depo...I'm wondering if the original lights were faded when they sold the truck. When I got ahold of the truck back in 2011, the lights looked brand new. Hmmm...

They were on the truck when I got it back in 2011, but you HAVE to make sure the lights you buy are from DEPO. Amazing products and they come apart easily.

I'll have to see if any of these ebay listings say DEPO anywhere. Are you talking about the etchings on the lens? I can usually see that if I look at pics.

Do you have a link for those? I don't know what TYC is.

Depo sells through eBay just like TRS. Like I said, I got 2 pairs of DEPO headlights from eBay. Both exceptional quality, both were easy to rip apart.

been thinking about doing this too, my stock one are fading so was thinking of buying a new set.

however my TYC turn signal housings have moisture in them from the first week they were installed. kinda makes me mad but not sure I can do much with them. any thoughts?

Silicone. And don't be shy with it. I have also found that applying a little grease on the o-ring on the bulb socket helps. Stopped the moisture problem with my corners.
Thanks everyone for the info! Sounds like TYC and Depo are the way to go.
