True. I did mine over two years after I did the lift. Wasn't bad at all, just had to fork out for another alignment. Tell you what, it made a huge difference in handling and feel.

 

I am going to be doing UCA when I do my lift as well. I am adding an additional 1" of lift and will need new ones once I do. Plus my tires rub my stock UCA when I backup as is.

 

you guys recommend Light racing UCAs?

 

Yep. They're about the cheapest ones but still get pretty good reviews on this site. I haven't read too many complaints about them at all.

 

Well, just ordered my OME kit last night from headstrongoffroad.com and I feel it was a good deal. I went ahead and got the diff drop for $30

Is the diff drop even needed? If I can away without using it then I won't put it on, I got it just in case and if I don't use it I won't be upset.

 

Congrats on the OME kit, you'll love it. You probably should've read or asked before buying....the diff drop is a waste money on the 2nd gens. It does very little to help with the CV angles and could expose the differential to potential damage if you off road without a good skid plate.

 

Just ordered from Headstrongoffroad.com as well today. I emailed them with a question and got a call within half an hour and placed my order...can't wait to install it and good customer service BTW with them...also I got full OME kit with Dakars 885 coils

 

Should I get 882's or 883's? I will be getting the Dakar leafs and the extra leaf for my bed rack and RTT

Its literally the only thing I didn't research. I forgot all about it untill after I completed my order and I called and had it added to my order. I used a discount code and saved $30 which is the cost of the diff drop so I guess it's no big deal I bought it. I figured better safe than sorry

 

There's not many 1st gen guys in this thread so not sure how much a response you're going to get. You might want to ask one of the vendors. I dealt with with dan@wheelersoffroad.com when I was buying my kit and he was very helpful.

If I get 881s and the Dakar leaf packs in rear... and add an AAL to them, how much more lift does the AAL provide?

I want a little rake because I run a topper pretty much all the time, haul weight for work sometimes and get pretty loaded down when wheeling/camping.

Don't ever foresee running plate bumpers, or tons of skids (Jon and I are going to build a bolt-on/off transfer case skid) or a winch. I do have sliders.

 

Yea, I just read about the guy who smashed his front diff into the oil pan. I'd rather replace CV boots.

 

If you've got a heavy skid go ahead and install it, but if you're running that stamped oem stuff don't.

 

I already received my "Light Racing" upper control arms. Funny thing is they say SPC (specialty products company) all over them. I feel like there was a mistake during shipping. Anybody else running SPC upper control arms?
