Damn you!!! Seriously looks awesome!! If I didn't just build a new trail bike, and wasn't halfway into building a new DH bike, my truck would be getting a lot more love... But the lights and a few other cosmetic things will have to do for now..

What kind of gas mileage are you seeing with the supercharger? Provided you are keeping your foot out of it... I drive a lot for work, but was thinking about adding a sc to mine

Haha you already know it's 100% DOM buddy. ;)

Yeah its a fatty set of pipes under there, and taming the sound on a full 3" with long tubes that dumps before the axle has been an adventure lol.

Ha funny you mention a bike build... A lot of the mods on my truck were funded from consolidating my MTB hobby down to 2 trail bikes lol. At one point I had 7 frames SMH.

Mileage isn't really too bad honestly. Driving like a normal person I can easily hit 17-18 mpg. A lot of the times the supercharger will stay at 0 psi the whole time I'm going up a grade.

Matt, when you installed the long tube headers you had to lose the first cat, correct? Won't this cause some emission issues for you? How did you handle?

Oh absolutely, long tube headers = First 2 cats(driver & passenger side) will be eliminated. It will definitely be an issue for emissions----but that's 5 years away. :D

Helps to have a smog "hook up" though. ;)

Interesting. We're two years on the first inspection for a new truck.

The majority of CA(if not all) will now forego the tailpipe sniffer test for any vehicles model year 2000 and newer under the recently amended emissions laws(AB #2289)..Essentially, all you would have to do is make sure you don't have a check engine light on and pass a visual inspection.

The "hook up" now would be to know someone who would just turn a cheek at inspection and let you off easy---or have an insider at the DMV.

When you replaced your side markers with leds, did you have to pull the whole headlight out or can you remove them with the headlights still attached?

The top corner parking lights? Those can be removed and replaced from the back with the headlights on the truck no problem.

Don't quote me on this, but I believe as long as you are bellow the max allowable emissions output you should pass. If that's the case as long as they see A catalytic you should pass the visual.

Not sure if that would go in TX. Anybody got the JBA shorty headers? I think they would allow you to keep all converters.

Soon, Im working on it! :D

If that is indeed the case then one(with long tube headers) could *theoretically* slap on their stock y pipe with the 2 downstream cats and pass. That would be awesome. :D

ALL short tube headers for the 4.0 Tacoma require you to keep the 2 factory upstream cats(the cats that actually affect what the o2 sensors read) and have them welded onto the new short tube collectors. These are more costly(factoring in having a shop do all the welding and installing) and yield significantly less power up top in the end vs long tubes, but are the ONLY smog "legal" way to run aftermarket headers and pass both a sniffer and visual test. Some people prefer the true smog legal way, and some people would rather have the top end power and swap headers back to their in tact stock ones before smog testing. It really all depends on the end user's priorities. Being that I'm supercharged with an upgraded pulley, I am all for eliminating all the cats in my system.

Like I said, don't quote me, I'm not up on smog, but I believe that is the loop hole. As long as the cats are visible at time of smog for the tech to see you should have no issues. I've never seen a smog center print out emissions reports from the trucks computer, it just test emissions at that time of test.
