Oh I know! It was throughout the house.

The electrical in this house is scary, to say the least. I'm assuming it's all up to code, for the most part, but I very much don't like it. I've got a 100A main panel (with almost every space subdivided) with a 60A subpanel in the garage. The outlet that is labeled 20A on the list is definitely a 15A outlet when you follow the wiring. I've got 15 separate switches in my family room to control lights and whatnot, and one that doesn't seem to do anything.

The driveway has a little island with a tree that has Christmas lights. The outlet is controlled by the GFCI on one of the garage plugs (twitch). The light on the outside of the garage is wired correctly to a box on the inside of the garage. Unfortunately that light is just plugged into an outlet, which is controlled by a switch inside the house.

I'm not an electrician and have a rudimentary understanding of electrical wiring (enough to wire 12 VDC and replace existing fixtures), but that setup just seems terrible to me. Whether or not it's code, I can't comment, but it just reeks of "good enough".

My ultimate goal is to upgrade to 200A service, redistribute the circuits, removing as much junk from the panel and get rid of all the bush league wiring.

Sure...the GFCI is just the bestest way to trigger another outlet in the world!

I'm ripping the island out in the spring regardless. I nicked a wheel in the STi the last day before I threw the winter wheels on backing into the garage at night. I'm still not over it, so out it comes.

That's very true. I actually like Albany, NY for that reason. Salaries aren't that dissimilar from Boston but the difference is, you can drive 30 minutes and be in cow country, drive 30 minutes from Boston and you barely clear 95.

Or cash out your house here (assuming you own a good sized chunk of it) and buy there. Even if your pay doesn't follow you, if you don't even have a small mortgage you're good to go

Satoshi'd grill. blacked out badges. aftermarket sound system. De-chromed and color matched. OME 885s + Dakars with 3rd leaf removed. LR UCAs. Scs stealth 6 with 285 duratracs. BAMF sliders
I have been part of building a few from scratch, i love it. Custom ones usually come with a 20k price tag, and thats for a small one.

It came out really good! It is a nice kitchen, and you probably saved yourself about $1500-$2000 installing it yourself

Since you didn't link anything I'm assuming this isn't a deal we can get in on, in which case zero fucks given.
