I think you are wasting $530. Spend one Sat and knock it out yourself. You can do everything with hand tools. DSMS can adjust to your desired lift height when you order you parts. Micah adjusted mine when I swapped out springs and it's perfect.

so your saying i will tell DSMS what height i want my truck set at, and they will sell me pre-adjusted coil overs? Or i will have to install then take my truck to DSMS for them to adjust? just a bit confused

I agree with 06Haole...Do it yourself if you can. $530 is a big chunk of change that can go towards a bumper, lighting, etc. As far as the Kings it sucks you can't adjust them while on the truck. My ICONs can be adjusted on the truck and me likey

Or if you are down in SD you should PM speedfreek (Jason) he's a super cool dude and installed my lift. He does an amazing job and is super reasonable.

IMO if you keep asking everyone on TW if the set up your gonna get will work for minor offroading and pavement pounding, by the time you actually buy it your gonna need to install a wheelchair lift.

Just buy whatever the f*Ck you want, because on here you will get a million answers.

side note: the parts list you came up with from DSMS will work fine:cool:
just post some pictures when you install it yourself:mudding::mudding:

You tell them your desired lift height and they can sell you them pre-adjusted. They just need to know truck info. Sonny and the crew at DSMS have been doing this quite awhile. There isn't a set-up they haven't seen.

Agreed. He did my cab mount chop for a great price. I highly recommend him if you don't want to do it yourself.

Wow a lot of King fans, I was torn between the Icon and the Kings and chose the Icon. God I hope I chose right. I went with the 2.5 remote resi in the rear and the 2.5 ext travel front with Icon tubular UCA and the add a leaf on the rear

Here is some info I found interesting on Progressive Dampers vs Digressive Dampers from http://autopitstop.net/car-improvements/progressive-dampers-vs-digressive-dampers/

Before we go into digressive shock absorbers, lets take a look at rally cars. You have probably seen videos of rally cars powering their way across rough undulating terrain and yet still keep on track. Rally cars have been called F1 cars in disguise. Compared to street cars, most street cars would have gone out of control unless driven slowly across bumps. You will know what I mean if you have driven over speed bumps too fast. You get the “crash, boom, bang” feeling. One of the reason rally cars are able to do what they do, is a specially tuned suspension. The other reason is they use shock absorbers with digressive valving. Digressive valving is a revolutionary way of valving shocks that is entirely different than in usual shock absorber design. Traditionally shocks have more damping force at higher shaft velocities, and that’s why they are called progressive shock absorbers. These shock absorber design have multi-stage valving to cater to various types of road conditions. Despite of these multi-stage valving, they are quite different from digressive valving, which is opposite of how shocks have been traditionally valved.

A digressive shock absorber has stiff, progressive damping at low shaft speeds (less than 3 inches per second). This helps to control car body motion like roll, dive and squat. At this point, it functions like a typical stiff racing shock absorber.

At higher shaft speeds, between 3 to 10 inch per second the damping force is more or less constant despite the rapid change in shaft velocity! The result is the suspension is kept supple in response to bumps and irregularities in the road, therefore traction is maintained on bumpy roads by reducing suspension hop, yet provides a firm ride, even at the high damping rates needed for body motion control. First used with success in off-road racing, digressive shock absorbers have only recently made their way into the on-road racing area.

In the past, digressive shock absorbers are only available from high end shocks manufacturers like Bilstein, Ground Control, Koni, JFZ and Penske. Now digressive shock absorbers are used in family sedans. Even the 2007 Nissan Sentra has digressive shock absorbers. There will be more after market replacement for digressive shock absorbers. Stay tuned for more.

Op visit the SoCal chapter. Go to their meets. Find someone with either set up and see if they will give you a ride and see for yourself. I'm sure there are tons down there with both kings and icon. That way you can decide yourself on the ride quality. In the end I'm sure you will be happy with either setup.

just so everyone is clear...i have already made up my mind. i stated the parts list in an earlier post. I was just asking in this thread considering this is the thread i started to decided the lift to begin with.

On second hand thanks Halo, i have been talking to Micah for a while now, ill make sure to ask him about the preload adjustments.

i would do it myself but i dont have the proper tools. I think i will just take it to my uncles shop. My main concern was ride height adjustment. It seems most everthing is bolt on, and rather straight forward. I have read several threads of people saying to do this urself as it is simple. Well, im down to put 530 into another mod, so thats the route ill go. Thanks for the help guys!

+3, my icons are titties, although I havent tried King. But I have taken my Icons on a rutted out bumpy dirt road that worked me really bad in my stock suspension, and with the icons it just eats everything up going over big ruts at 40 mph.

Icon changed the design, and this problem is no longer happening.

A couldn't say or vote. But based on the fact that I know people who run kings in their sprint cars and have never had an issue. They would be my choice.
