hard on the skinny pedal. big tires / lifted truck. most likely stock gearing. winter blend fuel.... Ten does seem a bit excessive though.

More mods to come.
Both of these are probably the main reason. When i was running a 285-65-18 with a 3 inch lift i was getting around 17 in the city. So your seems very low.
Edit : mine was a shortbed double cab

Have it checked out for codes. Clean your throttle body. Check your air filter. Check your tire pressure.

Have you taken into account the tire height difference between a 30 inch stock tire to a 33 inch tire. The larger tire records less revs per mile and so will your odometer

Just checked the Tire Calc for reference

    265/65/17 to 285/70/17 would result in a 6.6% difference

If you assume a 29" tire for stock. Your 10mpg should be in the nature of 11.38mpg if you factor in the 33" tires. That takes up some of it. But it still seems excessively low.

using OZ's calculation which is more accurate its even worse. 10 x 1.066 = 10.66mpg.

    Stock TRD Sport has 265/65R17 = 30.6X10.4R17

The driving that I do around town this winter is very limited...(1mile commute each way to work.) I probibly am getting around 13mpg if not less...

The 4.0L drinks fuel like a corvette on a winter cold start. It starts at 1.5-1.7 gph and won't drop below 1 gph for a few minutes. In comparison, the warm idle is about 0.35 gph.

As for on the road, that right pedal is the toilet flusher. Only push it if you want to hear the swoosh. That 3" lift and big tires are like the extra large turd that has to be flushed.

OP - driving habits, or route conditions? I can think of a few ways to get 10 mpg out of my truck too but it wouldn't involve the quiet 20 miles to work.
