I love how wanted "just a bit more power" always goes nuts as soon as you get a taste with the go pedal. Boost is too much fun!:D

That's badass dude. I need to do this because my rig is just under the mat loose. Just an old 357 but it would be nice to have it within my immediate reach

I havent been pulled over yet, but I can imagine it would cause a bit of concern for the cop...

In CO your car is an extension of your home so be it ak47 or pistol there isn't much he can do :). So did you get your wiring down pat for your AIC? It should only be a tach wire tap, positive, ground and vac hose reference to intake manifold.

I would tell you what wire and pin # it is on the ECU, but your wiring is most likely differently configured than mine considering the year difference.

Its legal here to (with a concealed carry permit, which I have) but Im just saying it would be concerning for the cop...

Whats up with the fic wiring? I just finished mine. Its pretty straight forward except for the CAM and CRANK sensor. I got everything mapped out so let me know if you need help.

I didn't get a FIC from the guy I bought everything from. Just the port fueler, AIC, VC2 And a performance calibration unit. I have no clue what to do with any of it... And waiting for gadget to reply is ******* me off a little...

Ahh, gotcha. Ive contacted him a few times and wasn't overly impressed with his customer service... I eventually found help elsewhere. Good luck.

I can't do much when the R4 software that comes with this says "since there are many different versions of the FTC1, it is impossible to list the connection diagrams"... And I received it all mangled like this... So yeah I'm thinking trash pile and hooking up my mapecu2. I still need the wire harness to that though $70......... Ah buying stuff used is awesome and sucks at the same time... especially from someone you've never seen :(

Simple fix... Contact urd support and they can send you install instructions once you tell them what you have. Also watch the utune to show you how to use the r4 software. It is simple to wire this up and to operate the r4 and tune.

Yeah it seems as easy as that but gadget isn't getting back to me. I guess I should start calling URD multiple times a day...

Thanks though man I might need your help in the near future

Did you try the URD support email? It goes directly to Gadget but he seems to want you to use that vice PM's, etc... Like I said, he's hard to get a hold of some times (and when you do, you dont always get the support you are looking for...:()

Yeah I did email him... I guess I'll just have to wait. How's everything working out with your setup? Did you get the battery drain nonsense under control?

I think after everything is said and done, I'll be using the mapecu.... Such better tech info and customer service. Only thing is I don't think I can justify using all the available outputs for just running the additional injectors. Maybe I'll buy another AIC just for that if the one I got is toast.

Yeah i figured it out. Some of the wires I didnt connect are still bare (not covered/insulated) and some were touching causing a small short .

The FIC 6 isnt too hard to figure out (got lots of help on the
Customtacos.com forums) and is much cheaper than the MAPECU. If you get a used FIC, its about ~$200-300 and another $350ish for the boomslang plug and play wire harness + ECM extension harness. If you get the MAPECU ($600ish new, not sure used prices) you will still need to get an extension harness ($150-$200 IIRC).

If you dont get the Boomslang harness and choose to wire it yourself, you will still need the AEM extension harness (~$160).

There is an issue with crank sensor input to the FIC. It wasnt too hard to figure out with my ECU (2.2k resistor to bridge the CRANK+ input and CRANK- input wire) but it might be different for you. That said, its not exactly required as the input is only used for adjusting/retarding your timing. While beneficial, not as important for the turbo as for the SC, especially with a decent intercooler and low boost.

Oh ok that's good. I'm not going to do the PNP thing because I'm cheap and I plan on keeping the truck till it hits 500k (silly I know but I grew up in that truck and I'll replace every damn thing until it's pretty much like new again to honor my pops if I have to). I already have a mapecu2 without the two harnesses.... So I think I'm going to use that for tuning the ignition timing and primary injectors. At 8 psi I don't reckon I need a whole computer lab in my truck.

No worries. With the ECU 2, I think you have to fire the extra injectors in groups (bridge the extra injectors as follows: 1&4, 2&5, 3&6) as it doesnt support six injectors (???). Not exactly sure but thats what i heard.

I actually meant AFR and timing :/... But hopefully there are enough outputs to disable the speed governor..... Ah can't wait to get her dyno'd

Hey man, how did you splice the extra injectors into your fuel line? You got a pic?

Sorry it's taken me fracking forever to reply but here it is. I ordered the stainless steel 3/8" tee from ebay for like $3 free shipping. Nylon/SS double braided fuel line was ordered from ebay too... It's the same stuff I used for the turbo oil lines...
