No doubt. Southern Tier has some good stuff, but I agree completely on the choklat, creme brulee, and mokah. You had krampus?

So I have been with the military most my life. Moved every 2 or 3 years. Am I not allowed to be a local other than to my birthplace in Oregon? Even though I was to young to remember anything back then?

Local just seems way too overused. I've lived in Boone for 15 years. Am I local, no, do I live here yes.. It's annoys the shit out of me to hear people that have no idea how to reasonably conduct their daily lives refer to themselves as locals. I have no use for people that move here and complain that it's not like where they come from. If they don't like it, they should move the fuck out.

You live in a college town of 17,000 where over 15,000 of your population is from out of town and that number will continue to climb. Maybe you should move the fuck out or accept the fact that very few of your neighbors are "local". Why do you have an issue with someone who attended college in your town, fell in love the with area, and decided to open a brewery and stay in Boone after he graduated? It looks to me like he's contributing to Boone's economy.

Gentlemen, please don't turn this thread into something it's not meant to be and get it shut down by the moderators. If you would like to continue your discussion via PM, that's up to you, but the rest of us are here to share what we're currently drinking and/or brewing.

Thanks and hope your next beer is fantastic.

Edit: I have some Red Hook Longhammer IPA waiting for me just as soon as I get home from work. Not bad, but their ESB is better.

My Mr. Beer kit is almost done and I'm gonna crack one open soon. I will keep you all posted as to whether or not I am a "decent" home brewer

Nice! I stopped at Lengthwise: The Pub last time I was in Bakersfield. I'll be stopping there again at the end of this week.

So I am in Veracruz, Mexico working right now. As far as beer goes, well, not much here. Negro Modelo is decent though.

Try to see if you can get one that's not available in America might actually be really tasty. I drink negra modelo with all my Mexican food

If you can find some Sol, give it a try. It's a good Mexican beer that's not too big here in the US.

Had a draft Green Flash Palate Wrecker on Saturday. Tasty beer.

I'll be in Bakersfield, CA Thursday to Friday again and will be stopping in at Lengthwise: The Pub again to try a few more of their tasty craft brews. There's some Bakersfield guys on this thread, right?
