Oh and that should be 20% on anything in the store, some of their consumables are really nice and priced well even before the 20%

Relocated the antenna, picking up a new rotor and caliper rebuild kit today. That should alleviate my annoying squeak.
Gonna have to wait for new springs tho.

They want you to pay the $40 shipping fee. That's why they don't have it in stores.

A line from Lethal Weapon 4 during the cell phone scene between Chris Rock and Joe Pesci.
" They f$$$ you with cell phones. That's what it is. They're f$$$in' you with the cell phone. They love it when you get cut off. Y'know why, huh? You know why? 'Cause when you call back - -which they know you're gonna do. - -they charge you for that f$$$in' first minute again at that high rate."

So the noise I thought was just loud tires turned out to be my 3rd member shitting the bed. During my 1800 mile trip to Washington state for work that "noise" became a very loud whirring. It made it up to Washington without any other issue than noise, but not sure how long that will stay like that.

I took it in to Titus-Will Toyota today and before the conversation even begins the guy tells me they won't warranty anything on my truck. I am like WTF OVER... So after talking with the service manager, explaining to him that Toyota has and DID just recently cover an issue with my rear diff (rear pinion seal and 3rd member seal in September for which I have the claim and warranty work order number) and that I am very well versed in the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act they agree to open a work order under the same rear diff claim.

After a little research I found this on another forum:
    "Hey Taco Owners,

I recently discovered a new noise from my 2006 DC sport automatic with 40k. So last week was the first time I heard this noise. It's a whining/humming noise when I accelerate to 20mph on up. The noise gets louder as I increase speed. To see if it was from the engine...I drove it to 40 mph on a very smooth road and shifted to neutral. The noise does not increase or decrease with engine RPM. It has to do with drivetrain.

Today I rotated the tires. I had the rear axle lifted on to jack stands & turned the engine ON. In 5th gear at a 1000 RPM the speedo reads 25mph or so. The whine/hum is definately from the rear differential. I revved the engine to 80mph and the whine/hum increased with the speed.

Background history on rear differential. At 30k miles the rear diff developed a leak. I was very surprised. I had a 1988 Toyota 4x2 pickup, never had any problems. I took it to a Toyota dealer. They said the pinion seal was the problem and they replaced & repaired it under warranty. By the end of the day after getting my TACO back, the rear diff is leaking again. This time I take to the dealer I purchased it from. Dealer had the truck for 2 days. Replaced the pinion seal and carrier gasket. The dealer mechanic also put a generous coat of red silicon gasket at the carrier gasket."

That guy had his entire rear diff replaced. That is almost verbatim what has happened with my truck. So we will see monday what they say. I think that when they replaced my pinion seal they either used the old pinion crush sleeve or I bet the toyota tech who replaced my pinion seal screwed up setting the preload tension on the pinion crush sleeve when they did replaced it. Its been 6 months since the rebuild but honestly only a few thousand miles since I noticed the noise and prior to that it could have been covered up by really worn and chunked mud tires so I never heard it.

We will see... Desert Toyota has always done me good. We will see if Titus-Will Toyota will do the same or if I have to play hardball. I am going to have the Toyota Customer care/dispute line on quick dial just in case.

Yea, it does but I am pretty sure it will get covered under warranty. God help them if it doesn't.
