I think it would open it up to a lot more people and this thread has been awesome since it puts pressure on you to go out and shoot under a certain set of standards. but with a month long challenge it could have 3 or 4 challenges so people could choose one or two and each person could have one color and one black and white photo entered.

    I like the weekly.
It's a quick enough turn-around to keep everyone interested.
Not everyone is going to submit on every challenge, for a number of reasons, be it equipment, schedule, etc....

Another forum I'm on does monthly and participation is low, for a couple of reasons.
One reason is it is basically two parallel monthly contests... January's challenge is judged in February (vote of participants) and that winner picks the challenge for March.

we would still keep this one going Rich it was just an idea. Plus the monthly challenge would have 4 challenges to choose from. so I guess we will wait and see if it catches on or flops.

Still life indoors? Covered area looking out on a scene out of the rain (outside)? To get something all it has to be is dark to meet the requirements and taken at night. :D

This is only happening because I have a 6 page paper, 2 lab reports, and 2 exams I desperately need to study for. Nothing like procrastination to get the creative juices flowing.

I challenge you to find something by midnight. Don't disappoint me in my challenge.

    I don't care if it's a damn toilet flushing.

Limitations are what make photography beautiful. I love to shoot primes because it forces me to work with the one single focal length I have with me. ha that said, I haven't gotten much this week either . . .

    +1

Storms, but no lightning (and too much ambient city lighting to try a 5 minute+ exposure to capture it), just torrential rains, and intermittent to the point that I would not trust having the camera away from shelter.

Nothing to see out my windows except other condos and the back of a professional building.... and if I give up my parking spot in this weather, I'll be walking 1/4 mile in the rain when I get back.
