    Hey Ponethousand,

I'm starting to think seriously about a RTT. How big of a difference did it make when you went from the topper/tent to the bedrack/tent?

Gas mileage took a hit with the rtt being on the topper. Where I wheel I couldn't have it sitting that high. Every few yards I would here a tree branch hit it hard. Gas mileage wasn't such a big deal since the truck is just a wheeling rig. Stepping down in the middle of the night to take a leak felt sketch being so high.

Getting it down on the bed rack was much better. Gap mileage improved since it's pretty much in line with my cab. Wheeling in tight spots is much better with this setup. Imo bet rack and rtt is the way to go. Unless... you run a expo trailer.

I do miss the lockable storage with the topper. The tool box helps with that though.

Hey bud, did you ever drive your truck on the 35's before tubbing? I'm buying a house and wanna step up to 35's when I get there but wont be able to pick up my own welder right away so I was wondering if it would be streetable with some bfh persuasion

Yea it's drive able with A LOT of big hammer persuasion...I did it for a week until I had the time to tub. No curbs while turning, or coming out of the driveway at an angle with the tires turned. Other than that, you should be able to get around.

Good to know. I think I have to keep working on my tent idea. I wanted to have the tent on top of my topper, so I could use the bed for storage on overland type trips... I might be able to do that with a bed rack as well...

    Got pulled over this morning.

Police officer talked to me for about 15 minutes asking about mods on my truck. More complimenting it then anything. He is a fellow tacoma owner!

Let me go and said "have a great day"!
