I drove mine around for 5 years cracked until I got a ticket. I got my replacement from AAA because they warrant it for a year and I'm a member so cost wasn't crazy.

I haven't cracked mine. A rock from the highway hit it, and put a good chip with small cracks around it in it. In RI, Allstate said if it was repairable, it would cost nothing. Otherwise I would have to replace it. I have a $500 deductible, and if they don't pay out more than $1000, my rate isn't affected. I had the free fix done. Not sure what a full replacement goes for.

If you don't mind me asking, how much was it through AAA?

Check around guys on the price. I'm on my 3rd in the 2012 Taco and put a couple in the single cab 2010 Taco (recently sold). $160, cash, at a local joint using non-OEM.

You're not calling them up in your woman's voice are you?

I just shopped around for windshields in the fall and if you pay more than $300 you're getting RAPED

Almost the same as safelite but a little more which is fine by me. Invoice is at home so no way to check now. Way less than $300 though.

AAA installers > Safelite installers IMHO.

Seriously...$700 for a windshield better come with a hummer.... dude up the street from me does it for $180 cash, but he's doing it on the side and robbing his company so I don't use him.

I quoted mine a few weeks ago at $374 for onsite repair.
I also had a $500 deductible but just lowered it to $100 for an additional $36/year on my insurance.
I will be getting a new one this spring.

Like yourself, I had a chip from a stone, that really cold snow we had in January did it in.

Here in Arizona, there is a zero deductible for glass if you have comprehensive with most insurance companies. Unlimited amount of replacement without insurance going up. I have never paid for a winshield.

Just got the windshield on my Focus replaced. It cracked from the middle of the passenger side in an almost straight line to about the middle of the windshield. No rock chip in sight, go figure. Got it replaced through Safelite for about $250. That's in CA. My insurance deductible is $500 so I had it done out of pocket.

I've seen times when I'd give 7 for a hummer (that sounds bad). :D

Ya ya, the cat that does mine for $160 owns the shop. Kind of a "behind the house joint" doing glass and has some fiberglass repair contract with a couple trucking companies...just for a second income. I'm not buds with him but, he knows I live close by.

Hopefully mine won't need replacing. Plus my inspection is good through 2/15.

Sucker. It's either KS or Oregon. No inspections in either one.

KS doesn't give a shit, and unless you live in Portland, the hippies don't care.
