another idea is to use the bottom piece of an exhaust clamp on the bottom of your tube instead of a flat plate.

Yeah, I have to be away for the 4th, 5th and 6th and I was going to leave specific instructions for my wife so she could order for me but I'd surely like to see the new stuff before I do so.

Well if I remember correctly, even if you get on the gb and paid on the 1st day of the gb... no tents are shipping until the end of the gb... so we still have some good waiting even after the gb is open...

I just want to see the new designs so I can decide if I am going to stick with the Shasta, or something new.

I'm taking Homer's advice and going to grab a Rainer. I figure with wife and 3 kids I'm going to need the space.

Looks like there's a new tent up. It's called the Mt. Washington.

Also can anyone let me know if they will be shipping these to Canada?

Unless I like one of the new tents that is being released I think im going with the Mt. Shasta. Anyone know of the Mt. Shasta being mounted on a front runner slimline rack? Do I need front runners RTT hardware? I have a camper shell with a front runner slimline rack on it. Anyone mount the tent so the over hang of the tent is over the tailgate? Would the annex work like this? Any pics? If this doesn't work im gonna put the tent over cab.

    Thanks

my only worry about mounting the tent with the back edge hanging over the shell would be interference between the tent and hte door of hte shell

I was thinking of that. As long as the shell window/door sits out of the way of the entry/ladder. It may work at least I hope.

Well crap. I have to leave for several days away at 10AM this morning. I've already left directions for my wife to order the Mt. Shasta and anti-condensation mat tomorrow but I was hopeful to get a look at any new models before I left. I'm sure that I'll be more than happy with the Shasta but I hope that I don't return to find some mega-awesome new model that I would have preferred.
