Hey guys so i been having my tacoma now for 11 months used 62,000 miles... and in the afternoon my Tacoma decided not to turn on 0.0 All day today in the morning was working perfectly fine... i get home and just when im about to leave it wouldnt crank not even a click... i asked my neighbor to help me push and turn it on manually and it worked... so i decided to turn off the truck and again wouldnt start... first time happening... can it be the starter? i gave it a couple taps and nothing...... what can it be? BTW i decided to give it some juice with my neighbors car and not even a click... and yes all the lights turn on fine and radio and horn sounds

Could be this. Try the clutch cancel button and see if it starts.

not even a click is probably your clutch safety switch, try the cancel button. if it were dirty starter contacts youd at least hear it click and the dash lights would dim/flicker with the power being drawn to the starter. you would hopefully notice if none of the electrical worked in case of a discharged battery. but if none of that is happening, its damn near certain to be that clutch switch.

he would be able to eliminate the clutch switch with the cancel button though. if it starts its the switch. if it doesnt.. its more than likely the relay. ive personally had more trouble with the switches than the relays.

    but that is totally plausible.

edit: you said solenoid. its 7am... ive been up all night.. i read relay. im very rarely in favor of beating on the components directly.. but dirty contacts have been a problem. OP done any offroading? gotten the starter soaked any? wait.. its miami.. corrosion floats around on little wings on the mythical "humidity" i live in a desert. i have no idea what that word actually means.

So im going.to.change the battery.for.some reason i think its the battery...i was looking back on what it could have been and I'm just remembering that i was washing my car with doors open and i believe the battery that the.car.has is used so that might be the cause... I just think its weird how it didnt give me no signs of battery dying or.not even.a.click when.it came to starting the car...I'll keep you guys updated... I value your advices thanks fellahs

So, you tried to start it with the aid of another vehicle and jumper cables and no luck? What makes you think then it's a battery issue?

I'd put money on the clutch saftey switch. I don't know if it's a normally open or closed type of switch, but I'd jump it out first before buying any other parts.

push start your truck, or better yet... try the clutch start cancel and go to the local autozome or something and have them load test your battery first. no need to spend recreationally.
