No turn signal issue

I replaced my tai lights with some aftermarket LED ones a year ago. Today I had to do it again because some of the LEDs went out and Amazon sent me a new pair of the same exact kind all plug and play. When I went to test them no turn signals. Front or back. I only touched the rear end today. What could be my problem?

I did search but couldn't find anything

 

Just checked the fuses none are blown. The brake lights and running lights in the rear also work just no turn signals.

 

bad bulbs?

 

Nope in the rear they are fresh leds and the front were working this morning I am starting to think it is the turn signal relay

 

Heres an update: I had one of the plugs twisted so the positive was aligned with the negative. I now believe that it is the flasher relay that is toast

 

Have you tried disconnecting the rear lights and see if the fronts work. They would hyper flash, but you would know if it was the relay or not .

 

I will try that tomorrow but I did hook up the old pair that worked and they didn't work when I tried again.

 

Mine have done this before. It was after I installed my front bumper. I've checked all the wiring to make sure that there isn't a short. All I did was pull the fuse to check it and put it back in. They seemed to work after that.

 

Was it the fuse behind the coin tray labeled "Tail"? I have brake lights and running lights just no turns front or back

 

Ah, well that's pretty much the same idea. You may have already looked, but did you check all the fuse boxes?

 

Yep. I pulled a few behind the coin tray and a few under the hood.

 

Do the hazard (4 way flasher) lights work?

If you created a short accidently, most likely its a fuse blown. It should be labeled "signal "IIRC, possibly "turn", or "hazard", it's not the tail fuse for sure. I'm thinking its in the fuse box inder the hood for some reason, but check both.

 

No the hazards don't work either. Thanks for the tip on the fuse names I will check those in the morning.

EDIT: I looked at a diagram and there is a fuse labeled "trn-hzd" I did not check that one so thats where I will head tomorrow morning.

 

Thanks Landphil, there was a fuse blown under the hood. All better now.
