Yeah this isn't our game any more, it has gotten a little out of hand.

SHUT UP AND GIVE ME YOUR MONEY! Do I have to be a LSU student? Link? sounds awesome!

I stopped playing for good when Cataclysm cam out. I pretty much played for myself for the most part. I had a few friends that played with me but once I maxed my player level out I started to loose interest in the game. I would usually stop playing towards the end and when a new expansion would come out I would pick up where I left off. When Cataclysm came out and they forced us to respec out characters I was pretty pissed because it ruined how I played with my character. I bought the expansion and renewed my subscription and only played it once and then never again. I felt like the only way to learn how to play mey character again was to start a new one and I wasn't in the mood to do that.

Played from launch in 2004 to about 2 months ago ... really grew tired of the game the last year or so.

You're right. In all seriousness though, I'd rather have an obese kid whom plays video games than one who does drugs or binge drinks.

I can't believe you stuck with it that long? I quit a while before "Kung Fu Panda" came out. I played LotRO for about 4 years and enjoyed it much more than WOW but... Warner Bros took it over and fucked it up. I've played pretty much every MMO out there from Aion, Rift, SWTOR, GW2, etc... but they just don't hold my attention. I've pre ordered ESO and I have played in the betas and so far it seems to be a good game (if you like Skyrim you will love it). Time will tell if it continues to hold my interest.

I've got a feeling once Destiny and The Division come out... I'll be done with MMO's for good.

Sticking around had more to do with friends than the game honestly. I came from Asheron's Call which was and is still the best game I have ever played. I think I'm also done with MMO's. I just don't have the time nor the drive that it takes to be a raider. I raided for years in WoW never really cared for crafting or achievements. I especially hate the forced labor (dailies) That's pretty much what ruined it for me, when they made dailies required for rep gains in panda land.

There is some truth in that though parenting skills and involvement play a role also.

I'm with you. I stayed strictly for the people I played with and not the game. Raiding was always fun but like you said (and it's the same with any MMO) the dailies are just a time sink to keep you playing and involved in the game. But you are correct. When the game becomes more like a second job I'm done.

Funny thing there, me and my ex-wife used to play a lot. Were were in the core raiding group of my guild. When my youngest daughter turned I think 12? she wanted to try it out, so we got her an account and next thing you know, we were having a family raiding night!

For the longest time I expected my daughter to do that with me. I tried to get my wife into LoTRO and she played a while but never really developed a passion for it like I had. But... I loved The Lord of the Rings when I was a kid so the game was really good until Warner Bros took it over and made it FTP and then dumbed the game down to where it really took no skill to play at all. I was done after that.

I stopped playing right before cataclysm. All I liked from the game was raiding, and some of the long story quest chains(onyxia attunement). the raids started to get boring real quick, running around aoeing things focus fire on a boss, ride a dragon, focus fire on a boss blah bla blah.
And then on top of that, all the gear that i was spending so much time raiding to get and hoping it would drop, you could get a comparable set from a vendor... Wha? I remember when wearing a full set of tier gear actually meant something. Tier 3 healing in the BGs was ridiculously fun and OP. And my guild was the only guys and gals to have tier 6 pieces and sets on my server, even tier 5 for the most part.

Long ramble short, it got boring, content to easy, no reason to spend hours raiding when they hand out the newb epics. No sense of achievement.

    End rant, thanks for reading.

ya it is. halo 2 built online gaming and MLG to what it is today so its great we are going back to the roots and getting back to arena style gameplay and ranks for winning or losing, people are bored of just playing a bunch for xp cod fucked that up and destiny, battlefield, and all the others followed suit, even halo. It comes out tonight at 9 and im pumped! also pumped for a lvl 100 warrior. what lvl is ur druid
