Hey guys , my 06 Tacoma 4wd has a lot of rust on the frame, it has 119000 kilometers and to me this seems unusual for this to happen this early , Is anyone else having issues ? and is there any rumors of Toyota doing anything about it like they did on the first generation trucks ? Its my first Taco, and I love it ,,, But this scares me a bit, like what am I gonna do in a few years when I have to inspect this thing, and it needs a frame ???

Yep, people are having frame issues. Check on the inside frame rail in the front boxed section next to the catalytic converters.

Some people have had luck going to the dealer, the dealer finding holes and having frame replacements, other member have been told to take their ball and go home.

Best bet is to inspect for holes, bring it to the dealer and document and then either treat it with a sand/repaint, coat with Fluid Film/oil/etc, or take the hit and sell it for parts/trade it if you cannot find a reputable shop to fix it.

This is why I traded my 06' for a 13'. The rust was so bad it scared me. Luckily, the dealership I traded it in at didn't notice it at the time. There have been a lot of complaints on here as well. Good luck.

X2 exactly. I traded in a 2006 for a 2013. Same model, colour, and options. The dealer didn't know or care about rust. 20,500 value on a trade.
