I think I'm going to give it a try. I honestly should have done it myself from the beginning but i thought they would have done it better and faster. i was wrong haha. I'll give it a go and keep you guys updated.

Nah your one eye is good and sees better then the guys that did this hahaha. Its got all kinds different angles, lengths, sizes and all sorts of things messed up with it. Luckily i think i can make another set with the extras so Im going to give it a try. I'll check out Walmart and see what kind of grinders they have.

It may not be a milwauke, or dewalt, but I can attest they are very durable and last a long time, especially for the money.

Edit: I just noticed that coupon is expired, but I know for a fact they still print that exact coupon (with a different date) I get one every week.

Closest harbor freight is an hour half away. I'll checkout their website. I also spoke with the auto shop on base and they said they recommend using their new plasma cutter that they have. He said that they will cut like butter and that I will want to buy a plasma cutter once I've used it. He said he'll show me how to use it and assures that I will not be disappointed. He also said it will be 10x faster and a lot nicer. What do you guys think? Plasma cutter or just stick to the cut off wheels?

Cut-off wheels and a good grinder. Not one from Wal-Mart or HF.

Harbor Freight plasma cutters are junk..

If you want a plasma, go with a Hypertherm or Thermal Dynamics..

Personally I think the guy on base is full of shit Randy, I promise I'll get a better, cleaner cut with cut off wheel than plasma, it is faster tho' . But consider this, springs are pretty high carbon steel & react negatively to excessive heat, that said the plasma cutter DOES operate at a lower temp but your still heating it till it's bubbly & runny & tho' metalurgically speaking it won't change, it WILL degrade the temper/tinsile in the steel

Actually have had great luck with the harbor freight shit so far....:)

Grinder and cut off wheels it is!!!!!! Coming from the master himself I'll take your word over any one else's when it comes to springs. Depending on shipping times from harbor freight, I may just get a grinder from Walmart or Lowes. I need to get all my mods done soon before my newborn baby girl gets here.

If you have access to a band saw or portaband those would work even better.

True, maybe a little slower but cleaner, more "accurate" (because you clamp it down) & less invasive to the spring heat wise

I do live by the wisdom that if a hammer wont fix it there's a good chance a grinder will work. :D

Haha, everyone at my shop knows if you fuck up large whether it's on a CNC mill, lathe, EDM, brake etc. You are gonna spend some time digging tanks in the waterjet dept.
