All they can really regulate is the nicotine. They can't stop companies from making the coils and devices themselves. Otherwise, you would walk into a smoke shop and not see bongs on the shelves. I can make my own juices just fine with the food grade VG and PG bases and just add LorAnn's food grade flavorings and not even need nicotine. It's still a cheap fun hobby regardless. If they discover that it makes buttholes rot out in 10 years, then I guess I'll have to get a butthole implant because it's a free country and I'll stop when I'm ready.

The first time I saw someone use one of these was in a doctors office waiting room. I was kind of in a fog anyways and she took this thing out and I'm like what the heck is she doing smoking a cig in here? Then she started conversing with some other people and I figured out what was going on. I thought to myself that these things will never take off..boy was I wrong.

Well, I'm exaggerating and not exactly worried about my butthole rotting off because of ecigs.

It's not as bad as booze. We know booze hurts our liver and bodies but we intake it anyways, and people die from alcohol diseases every day. Nobody has been proven to die from ecigs, or even shown to take harm and they have been out for years.

Which is crazier? KNOWING something harms you and still doing it, or not having any known proof yet and doing it? I'll take the latter (but I still drink alcohol)

We know acetominophen causes liver damage, too, but we still pop those over-the-counter pills like candy when we get a little headache.

The world is an interesting place.

Damn... busted. The anus blows great smoke rings.

So, is anyone on here doing their own ejuice? What I am referring to is buying your own unflavored PG/VG bases and adding/diluting nicotine and then putting in your own flavors?

I'm curious on the ratio of LorAnn's flavorings to X amount of base fluid, and also looking for any experience anyone has had with other flavoring brands. The stuff I vape now is all made with LorAnn's and I really like the taste, I just want to play around more with making bulk batches with flavor ratios tailored more to my own tastes.

I also like the idea of the cost savings.

All I really need to procure is the nicotine fluid. I see it for sale all over, and have an idea of costs I want to stay under. Just curious if anyone already mixes their own and had any recommends for where they prefer to get their nicotine.

i made a few of my own mixes. some lorannes arent as good as others. some taste totally funky (all cherry flavors taste like ass to me) the watermelon and banana are good. i bought 50/50 with 6mg from ecigwizard.com. it hits harder than i like so i also bought some VG from ebay to mellow it out. amount flavor depends on the actual flavor. some i used 5 drops, others like 3ml.

I haven't done it, but I've looked into it a bit. You could sure vape on the cheap with an RBA and mixing your own juices. Plus it'd be nice to be able to dial in exactly the flavor you wanted.
If you figure it out, maybe you could help us all out with some starter recipes to get us in the ballpark?

Dammit guys....KING.TACO was right, it is a gateway drug.

Only been vaping for a little over a month now, and I've already moved onto the harder stuff...

Now, I'm a bonafide Meth-head/junkie/crack-head and I dabble with bath salts and Krokdil to keep things interesting :)

it was just trial and error and only made a few batches. most started with 10ml of fluid, then added juice to taste. never really left the experimental phase lol. the watermelon i made with 50/50 0mg, it was 10ml mix with 3ml of loranes watermelon. that was my best one. grape only needed like .5ml for 10ml of mix.

I'm going to dive into this project and see if I can find the ratios of LorAnn's for one of my favorite mixes from a shop in California. I know each flavoring has a different mix ratio, but with the low cost of bulk VG and PG, it should be a cheap trial. I'll dial in flavors before putting nicotine into the costs and it should be an inexpensive experiment.

I'll be happy to share whatever I come up with. I'm sort of a nut when it comes to this type of stuff and I like to document everything so I can repeat exactly. Likely I'll put it up on a spreadsheet on Google Docs or something like that and share what I learn.

    I need some advice:

I bought a Pro tank 2 last week and it leaks/gurgles like crazy! Every time I take a draw juice ends up in my mouth and I've tried the spare coil and it still does it. How can I fix it without completely rebuilding it or getting a new one?

I don't have that tank, but have heard that is a common issue w/ PT2s. Here is a helpful tidbit that another member (Taqoma - Brennan) sent me. Might help you out.

I love the PT2's and have a few of them. One thing I know can cause leaks is if the coil isn't screwed in SNUG into the base piece. I usually get an extra grip on the little knurled knob of the coil with some paper towel for extra traction and really crank it down tight. Just hand tight, no tools or anything, to spare the life of the threads in the base piece.

I rarely had a gurgle in mine, but I also ran pretty heavy VG. Higher PG is runnier and might leak more. Also, get OEM Kanger coils and not the knock-offs. They just seal/work better IMO.

If you get the gurgle, just unscrew your tank from your device and blow through the mouthpiece into a paper towel to get the excess out. Also try running a little bit higher voltage/wattage on your device to make sure you're actually vaporizing the fluid that is being drawn into the coil with each inhalation. Those things can handle a bit of power when they are saturated.

I ended up putting the extra o-ring in and so far it hasn't leaked. I might try a mixture of more VG in the future. Right now i'm using 70PG/30VG and its pretty runny.

Cool. Making sure all the parts of the tank are screwed on tight makes for a better seal of the chimney against that coil gasket, too.

That's expected, and nobody is surprised. We're just enjoying it in bars and approved places until they ban it like regular smokes. Life goes on.
