I'm looking for options for racks fitting inside short bed using the rails as mounts. Yakima sells a clamp system that I like the looks of called the BedRock. The bars are above the bed rails using clamps that attach to inside rails.
My main purpose is for surfboards that are too long to lay flat in the bed. Thanks for suggestions and/or links to ideas.

Are you looking for bed level (hanging off the back of the bed), or above the cab?

I'm looking for something that is just slightly above the bed rail height. That way a surfboard strapped to the crossbars will not touch tailgate or will hang just over the top.

I like the looks and simplicity of your racks. However, I need the bars to be raised by about 3-4 inches so a surfboard attached won't hit the tailgate. With the curve of a board (rocker) when strapped upside down will cause the nose to be at or just below the level of the rack it is attached to. Make sense? I might be able to get away with your design if I could wrap a thick enough pad around it to raise the board up to clear tailgate. Thanks.

Voodoo's bars look great and with a foam or other padding, you should be above the tailgate. There are some others that sit on the rails and bolt to the tracks. Armor Tech and Relentless Fabrication are examples.
Love2Surf and INNO RT101 Truck Stays (I have these with Thule cross bars). In my opinion, the INNO is more flexible in configuration, but the offering of the venders here are more stylish and lower profile.

Look at Relentless Fabrications rails. Also look at Love2Surf (website search) and INNO. All of these are elevated.

You could just zip tie some pipe insulation foam (the round stuff) for padding/elevation if you can't find exactly what you need. They make it in a few sizes, and in black to match the bed/supports.

Just a bunch of old crap
Thule makes one that attaches to your bed that is adjustable in height. I saw every Taco in Hawaii with one for their surfboards and paddleboards. Probably one of your best solutions if that's all you're using it for.
