ah, i see. that's similar to how my truggy works. i'm just more used to seeing the servo in the orientation of your 4wd buggy on the buggies ive seen, as well as the one i own. that's some good looking billet you've got there too.

Good. My buddy got the other one. Luckily Amazon's customer service is top notch and exchanged it immediately for him.

Yeah - I got just the quad for now. Want to master it by itself before I add another $700 to it that could get trashed if I get too antsy.

Sounds like he had an FPV setup - First Person Video. That is down the road for me also.

Might mention to him that running the WiFi on the GoPro alongside the radio of the Phantom has been known to cause major glitches. Lots of "fly aways" and other mishaps have happened, supposedly, because the signals get crossed, both being 2.4GHz.

Just got done upgrading the firmware on both the Phantom 2 Master Controller and the transmitter - the software for this thing is pretty damn awesome.

Now, as long as I can get out to the park before the rain hits, after eating dinner with the girlfriend, I'll be able to get this thing off the ground for the first time. Been flying tri/quad/hex copters for years and I'm still nervous - never had one with as much logic as this one has...really freaks me out.

    Bastard.

I'm going through a certification course to become a "certified commercial UAV pilot" and once the FAA comes out with their guidelines in 2015, I'll get trained on whatever they send out.

Does this guy have a website? His own company?

Get in line! And at this rate it'll be beyond '15 before they figure out what they're going to do.

Would anyone possibly be interested in a Maxamps 16000mah 7.4 lipo? Has 6mm gold plated bullet connectors on it.

it's an Exceed "Mad Crawler". dual motors (on axles). that picture was actually in stock form, with some slight shock mount adjustment.

Exceed makes other crawlers, but this one has been "out of stock" for about a year, leading me to believe that they have discontinued it. though they still sell all of the replacement parts, which is good.

since that picture, I've converted it to 4 wheel steer, along with a number of other things.

Not a typo. Had them custom build it for a Mamba Max system. Only ran a few runs then I got tired of rebuilding transmissions every time I run it.

It is about the size of 2 of the old 6 cell Nicd 7.2v batteries stacked on each other. Length and width is the same. So not too terribly bad. It could deliver of to 800 amps instantly.

So my wraith should finally be almost "finished" this weekend

I've added gmade hardened driveshafts, axial aluminum upper and lower links, VP steering rod and drag link, VP c-hubs and knuckles, axial Maxxis Trepadors and trail ready beadlocks and an aluminum servo horn...moved battery up front, esc to the rear along with the on/off switch

built metal sides, rear panel and rear deck lid but didn't like how they turned out, so ordered some Carter Fab sides and front fenders which should arrive tomorrow...will get painted this weekend and installed next week

only thing left I want to do is add a couple LED bars and make them on/off switchable...which will require the new radio...i'll deal with that later

Also, been working on learning to braze...found out I've quite adept with brass rod and sheet and a torch...so i'm building a gear basket for my rear deck and gonna attempt to build a mount/cage for one of those LED bars eventually...just gotta go get a small tube bender and another can of propane for the torch

I'm gonna see if I can source some thicker brass rod or tube to match the wraith's plastic tube cage...and then possibly build a front bumper too

small scale metal work is far easier than full size...that's for sure

I'm hoping to get by the local harbor freight friday or saturday and pick up a small tube bender so I can do stuff other than sharp angles
