i never used the geo's before but MANY local people say good things especially for the price. i always stuck with bfg's though on my strickly off-road toys so far, lockers and 35x12.50's never failed yet, but have to admit i think next time i'll give those a try.

    cheers,

    Do dents and scratches count?
Anyone running General Grabbers anymore? Put a set on a 84 chevy short bed back in 97. Truck still has those same tires up at camp. Its been off the road for ten years but the tires still hold air with minimal rot. Couldn't say enough good things about them.

Yeah I have the General Grabber AT2's, I've had them in all sort of Winter Conditions and very little mud bc I stay away from it as much as possible. I have no complaints other than them picking up gravel etc and slinging it out like pellets when you get up to speed. But they've done well so far, and quite. They do have a very similar tread pattern as the bfg ko's.

    Duratracs have paper thin sidewalls.

Best new AT out there is the Cooper ST Maxx. Made on the same carcass at the Cooper STT so its practically bullet proof. Great tread, great traction in the rain, shine, snow, dirt, offloading, etc.

^ I like those Cooper St Maxx, I was thinking of getting those when I got my grabbers, but the weight difference, price, and they didn't have them is what stopped me. Might just get them next go around. They look sweet too, heard they were quite.

Yea, I thought they were kinda loud at first. Turns out it was just my rear differential going out. LMAO.

I get 18-22mpg with them, they are 255/85R16. Thats up from 14-18 I had with my 285/75R16 M/T tires.

Like I said, REALLY good traction. I have put about 3K on them since I got them in February. Did some offloading on AZ slick rock and sharp mining slag, road trip from AZ to Washington. Drove on ice, snow, and rain. Some of the best tires I have a had and I got them for $190 apiece at discount tire. Cheaper than any other tire in that size range. I will admit they are a little heavier than some of the others, but they are a LOT tougher as well.

I have ran 8 sets of BFG ATs. The last two sets I have ran have had serious balance issues and no support from BFG on the issue. I'm done with them even though they were a great tire.

Best A/T tire? Best at what? Mileage, puncture resistance, sand traction, mud traction, snow traction, handling, load capacity, noise, value, looks, or...???

Everyone wants a gnarly bad-assed looking tire and frankly most will purchase based on that alone. I would suggest that there is no "best" tire, but there probably is a tire out there that best suits an individual user's needs based on how and where they actually use their truck. A tire that is the best all around compromise for me may not be the best all around compromise for you.

I like the Cooper line, AT3/ATR/ATP. The STT and STT Maxx are nice too but are M/T.

The ST Maxx is not a MT. Look at the pictures I posted up above, definetly not a MT.

    5100's all around. Front's set at 1.75" 265/75/16 Duratracs.
Just picked up some duratracs in 265/75/16 yesterday. Did a little driving with them including some interstate miles at 75 to 80 mph. Very quite for a tire that aggressive. Ran up a couple of muddy hills in 2wd and they never slipped once. I am hoping to push them more this weekend. But just from my first 100 miles with them and everything I have read about them they are hands down the best AT tire out there. The price tag also says that too by the way but they do have a 60 dollar rebate if you buy them this month.
