I'm sure this has been posted, but couldn't read through all 35 pages.

I recently upgrade to the 285/70/17 Goodyear DuraTrac's. Living in Colorado, and driving into the mountains alot during ski season, I needed a tire that could handle slush/snow/ice. These tires do the trick and then some!
My previous tires were the BFG Mud Terrains KM2's, while these tires were great in deep snow, they were horrible on icey/slushy roads. I was able to get 55,000 miles out of them, so can't complain, but night and day difference with the DuraTrac's.

I have noticed one thing with the DuraTrac's, and that is my gas mileage has dropped considerably. I'll take safety over gas mileage, but might have to get a "summer" set of tires.

BTW - from FourWheeler.com, this helped with my decision in to purchase the Goodyear's

    Tires for truck:
    from http://www.fourwheeler.com/how-to/wheels-tires/129-1204-4x4-tire-guide/
    Goodyear Duratrac
One of the most aggressive all-terrain tires we’ve seen from Goodyear, we think the Duratrac blurs the lines between all-terrain and mud-terrain. As such, our staffers subjected the tire to a whole assortment of surfaces including rocks, sand, snow, mud, and ice. The pattern stood up to heavy rains and ice-covered asphalt, and returned a quieter than average road noise. In conclusion, the tread scores highest in snow and ice traction—probably because of the plethora of multi-angle siping on every lug. However, the pattern also proved worthy of mud, sand, and rock. Just don’t get too deep into rocks with sharp edges as the compound will chip and cut easily and the two-ply sidewalls are more vulnerable than you might expect. For a daily-driven weekend warrior, these tires are a great choice.

Anyone know if Goodyear stopped making the MT/Rs with white lettering? Lookin to get some new tires and I can't decide if I want Duratracs again or MT/Rs.

I spend some time off road (trail/sand), but I also drive 30 miles on the highway each day. Am I making a mistake looking at the Goodyear/Kelly's 'Fierce Attitude M/T' for my new Tacoma. I don't mind the noise as long I just don't want the GM to increase too much. I'm really looking for a tire that performs well in all situations and looks good too.

You won't regret these tires. I've ran mine for a couple years and I love em. Mud, snow, major rain and street they perform excellent. Drive straight and true, wear really really good and are actually pretty quiet in my book.

Excellent. I'm new to the site so maybe this is simple and I just need to do the research, but I'm looking for the best place to purchase tire and wheel package. Do you have any suggestions or point me in the right direction? I'm not looking to modify anything right away, just bolt and go.

    What I did was:
    1. find my locals in my area that carried this tire.
    2. Got quotes from all of them (Including Walmart...they carry these believe it or not)
    3. After getting lowest price (Walmart won that one) I called America's Tire and gave them Wally World price and they beat it by ...If I remember correctly...10%. I got my 35" tires for under a grand!!!!

They have an amazing wheel collection that you can look thru and they will make a great price on those too.
