You're giving them too much credit. I don't put hardly any weight into a Consumer Reports write up on a vehicle. Their idea of handling and ride is very, very skewed and misdirected. Most of the people who do those write ups wouldn't know a good handling vehicle if it ran them over.

 

Everyone hates on toyotas. You should see some of the shit on pickups.com. They complain that the tundra has the lowest rated towing in its classist then praise everyone else for final lying complying next year with the towing standard they all agreed to like 5 years ago.

 

I didn't realize that the Tundra was rated the lowest. I think the ratings are getting silly these days. If I needed to tow over 10k lbs regularly, I'd get a diesel.

It is rated the lowest only because it complies with the standard already. The others do not.

Just curious, why do you say that? Have you driven any of the others?

I'm curious to see what the others are at when they're all using the same standards. I think mine's rated at 7,500 lbs but I don't have the highest tow package that Ford offers.

 

I drove an 03 F-350 quad cab long bed with a powerstroke for a month when I was living with my uncle in LA. I loved the powerstroke!

Dodge is just chincy and shitty. I strongly dislike the new "ram" styling.

Chevy has never had my vote. After the stories I've heard from my step brother, nooooo thank you!

If I was buying a diesel, I'd get a Ferd. If I was buying a gas truck, it would be a Tundra. I drove the tundra and absolutely fell in love with it.

 

It will be interesting. The tundra crewmax is like 9500 pounds. You also have to get the 5.7 in the crewmax.

 

Toyota > Chevy/GMC > Other Brand > Dodge > Huffy > Ford
