Honestly, I disagree on that point. The purchase of my RTT actually was the deciding factor for my Wife to want to camp. She realized that camping wasn't just some nightmare of wet tents and uncomfortable sleeping conditions. Now we have camped in all conditions including snow and temps well below freezing, and she loves it. Now with my son involved, the RTT/Trailer tent is by far the only way we would want to go. But, perhaps we are not typical... :)

100% agree with you should know you are goig to use it or camp a lot already to justify the purchase. Like I said I use mine just about every month so it was well worth the investment.

If i could slip a trip in every month that'd be worth it for sure..

I think i've used it 4 times this year so far... slipping.. After this summer that number will be around 30 lol

Yeah I'm not about to lose my job over a DUI. I figure I would rather explain why I'm sleeping in the tent to a cop haha.

This. I don't usually have my truck running once I have camp set up but if its a chilly morning and the windows are frosted over I'll let the truck run while I'm taking things down.

Hey, could I ask a favor - could someone with an Allpro pack rack and RTT possibly measure the highest point on your setup?

The DC is 70.1" at the highest point of the roof, so I think I'm safe to clear the garage entry with 3" lift, 33 tires and a roof rack (I'm estimating 81" and have an 83" opening). My concern is the RTT, so I'm looking at either an SOS low rise bed rack or an Allpro pack rack cut down to the minimum.

I'm okay with removing the ladder while moving into/out of the garage.

I have an 8ft garage door and I just make it into my garage. But I don't have the whole set up you requested. Just measured my runner from ground to top of ladder is 92 inches, so I have 4. Inches to spare but I don't park in my garage with my runner. When I first put mine on goig through drive throughs scared me. I'd have my sun roof open watching it :)

I wish I had an 8' door. :( We haven't been able to get the Xterra in for a long while, so no garage maintenance. We're trying not to make the same mistake with the Taco.
