Have you tried the old mechanic's trick of putting a ratchet extension rod against your ear and placing it on various components in the engine? That might help at least narrow it down.

Yup and it doesn't seem to be coming from any accessories. It is very loud when on the driver's side valve cover

There is a quick mod thingy on here about putting a rubber grommet on something on the driver side engine to stop the ticking . Maybe that piece is loose or something .. Look on the cheap free mod area .
Most likely doesn't have anything to do with it but figured I'd throw it out there.

Sarah's 18 year old dog tripped or something, smacked his head, and knocked a tooth out. Hitting his head caused him to have a seizure. He's practically blind and he can't hear at all. We took him to the vet but they are going to put the poor little guy down tonight :(

He's so old and confused though. I think it's best. Sarah has had him since she can remember though, so it's really tough for her to say goodbye. This is the part that sucks about having pets :(

I bought it with 30K on it and used it to commute 120 miles a day for a while and now its down to 70 miles a day. I have an app on my phone that can print out every gas fill and oil change if you want. I have been running Valvoline NexGen Synthetic for over a year. It is a fun car to drive and would be awesome for autocrossing. I have been averaging around 28 mpg.

Pulled over to get a coffee and now the truck won't start. Not the most mechanically inclined but how does the battery, starter or alternator go without some sort of warning.... anyone have any ideas. Had a few people try to give me a jump but the truck just clicks over and over rapidly without any real turning of the motor.

How old is the truck/battery? I know batteries will just shit with no warning so it would be my bet

Always sad losing a pet. Hopefully Sarah is doing alright with it. Sounds like it is what's best for him though.
Sounds like a battery. They can go without warning if you forgot and accidentally left something on.

If you couldn't jump the truck I would assume its a bad connection. Even a junk battery should be able to get jumped. Check the battery terminals, they need to be super tight. Then check ground cables and wires to your starter and alternator.

Yup, you were both right big'ole tow truck pulled up and one crank off his dual battery and started right up. Looks like I'm going and buying a new battery tonight.
Any suggestions for a quality one?

Also how long did you charge the battery. If its a civic it needs to charge for at least ten mins.
