Dude! That's an awesome camper! I think that method of storage would best fit with the camper as a whole item, but maybe just having a plywood floor would work well to support the boxes. Hmmm...back to the drawing board! Thanks!

Really miss that truck when I see the photo. Wish I would've taken better care of it! It sat for two years and I didn't turn the key once, then when I was selling I jumped it and it started right up immediately, old gas and everything!

I'm actually thinking about selling it in the near future. I'm not driving it much these days and having 5 4x4's is a bit too much. If/when I do, I'll let you know.

Yeah, these were built in's, so when you opened the lids you saw the bed sides and bed floor. But building them on a sheet would have been a good idea to remove them, if one intended to remove the camper like I do. This truck has a factory option bed side kit, instead of seeing the single wall sheetmetal, they have these inserts that are installed. My buddy bought a new 4x4 in 81 or so and he told me it was an option back then, and that he had them too.

Does the camper deal to the cab? If so, do you have any more pictures of how that was done?

The camper does seal to the cab, but when I removed it, I put a back window in the cab. The glass could be removed and the seal re-screwed around the window like it was before. For now, the seal is still attached to the camper. I left the camper open at the seal so that if I went to a pull behind, I could have the option of getting a long bed and putting an angled windjammer type of front on it and use it for storage. The storage would have been accessible from the front or through the front window of the camper if you were inside. That was the plan anyway, if I went with the pull behind.

I just have the one picture up above that shows the seal around the back window opening.

    Adding it here..

It was a turbo from a DSM eclips with SDS fuel injection and 12 psi. Never dynoed but estimated about 250 flywheel hp. It ripped.

Yeah I did the same when I replaced my headlights a few years ago. Ended up having to drive around without the grill for a few days while my dad picked up the clips.

I was da 1st on da island to have this truck. Came from Alaska. Got it's from my friend. I swapped him a crate 22re for the truck. I had a LC 22RET motor in the garage and swapped out the blown 22ret. I really miss that truck. It's seated 6 people. 60/40 Tacoma bench in front and full bench in back. My wife said that was the ugliest truck I owned. NOT TRUE
