I had a Toyota dealership take mine out and press the new ones in. They told me they usually torch them out so I assume it's a similar process to the one in the video.

Where do you mean as the bushing seat? Like the metal ring that comes in contact with the LCA? If so do you hit it with a flathead or something?

Bushing seat meaning where the bushing is pressed into the control arm.

that's interesting, because the dealerships here consider it a throw away part and you have to replace the whole arm.

some dealers do not have the equipment needed to do so or their staff is not well trained enough to do it...as I found out when researching this when I first did it years ago.

I just did this job over the last two days. A couple of things that I found to be helpful. Diablo Steel Demon sawzall blades seemed to work pretty good. You can get them at Home Depot, make sure you get the ones that cut between 1/8" to 1/2" steel (markings are on the blade). I picked up the 6" version and 9" version to vary my angle of attack without hitting the steering rack or frame.

I tried cutting with no lubricant, the blade lasted about a half thickness of a bolt. I then used 80-90 gear oil as a lube and I was getting a bolt width and starting on the other side of the bushing with one blade. I still chewed up alot of blades, I don't recall how many. I will say that it took 2 1/2 hours per side to get through those miserable bitch bolts.

When you use the Moog bolts, double check that the grease fittings are tight. All of mine were loose, to include one that actually fell out.

After cutting one bolt and needed two blades I put down the sawzall and grabbed my grinder w/cut off wheel. Cut like butter.

I was using Lennox blades with tooling/cutting wax as a lubricant. The bolts are hardened. The blades I have cut 3/8" mild steel like butter - LCA bolts not so much.

    where? on your 4runner forum?

X2.... :D Spring thaw is coming and you guys need to flush out the crap kits.

I have ONE good kit and returned the other kit. Called around to part stores and they do not stock them. Would love to find a local place that has them so I can look in the box before buying, I am 1 for 4 with these kits :-/

    Ok update
I measured all my stock cams
Most #'s i post have been rounded off to keep it simpler

    Driver side front 52mm
    Driver side back 54mm
Driver side rear - front 46mm
Driver side rear - rear 46mm

    Pass front 52mm
    Pass back 54mm
    Pass rear - front 47mm
    Pass rear - rear 47mm

    Ok moog cams
    826-3 = 46.75mm
    826-8 = 45.75m
    826-4 = 53.75mm
    826-2 = 51.50mm

    Moog bolt diameter
    13.85mm " bolt without sleeve"
    15.80mm larger bolt with sleeve
    19.10mm is the sleeve

Hope that helps some of you

1 week till the front end comes apart to install a bunch of new front end parts...But I still don't have the correct moog bolts. Has anyone else received the correct kit? I'm going to make my last effort order tomorrow to have them by weeks end.

I have OEM bolts here if needed, But...
