I heard about the snow. I don't think it'll amount to anything though. The Cape has been getting pounded this year though. The snow is down enough, going to try to yank the trailer out that's been snowed in all winter. We'll see if I can get the Ferd stuck in the yard this weekend

And yes it sounds for the best but the hardest decision to make. Done it several times the past 4 yrs.

 

This. Cupcake's Rav4 just puked the battery a few wks ago suddenly, started fine in the freezing cold AM and wouldn't even click at 3pm in a little warmer weather. In fairness, that battery turned out to be the original from 2005.

 

Usually true but not always. At least 2 times I can recall a battery was such junk it wouldn't take a charge, but I removed the cables and clipped the jumper cables right to the battery cables..fired right up. That said, both times that I recall the car had sat a long time..6 months and 2 yrs.

do you have the scorpions on it? what tires do you have? if you spin 4high and they pretty much rev too the moon

 

It was finally started by a tow truck. But it seemed very weak. While driving the radio and interior lights flickered over bumps. I thankfully left the truck on while I picked up a new battery at Auto Zone as suggested. When I got home and shut off the truck, it wouldn't start back up again. I'll be installing the new battery in the a.m.

Where would I find the cables connected to the starter? I'll check those out tomorrow.

I have Michelin AT2's and they are awesome in the snow! If they wear well, I will definitely buy them again, I've been impressed with them so far. I usually turn off traction control in the snow (just hit the button once and it turns off traction control for the first 15 MPH but keeps advance trac on). I've found that traction control can be a little too invasive on take off but otherwise I don't mind the advance trac system.

 

The fact that it caught with the tow truck gives me further reason to think you're on the right track with the battery. If it was the alternator I'd think your volt light would have tripped as well.

 

Follow your positive cable, other end is on the starter..

 

I've always brought the cat in to show to the others so they understand..plus I don't want them thinking anytime they leave the house they may never come back. That and I've interred them in the yard.

Maggie (sweetheart of a yellow English lab) was still heart broken. She knew he wasn't doing well, but she's a happy girl. She'll be ok soon.

 

Yup..then showed the others after we had the cat put to sleep. Most recently, Scratch was watching out the window when we laid Precious to rest.
